I love this place. Its all family style and menu is on a chalk board hanging on the walls. Tremendous portions and great dishes and a nice bar is what makes this place work for me. Some menu items I recommend are the Shrimp La Parma which is huge shrimps in a light pink tomato based sauce. Another is the Camamari Arrabiata which is lightly breaded and fried calamari with a nice and slightly spice tomato sauce that I can drink with a straw. Very tasty and always the first thing my friends and I make sure we have on the table along with the Tomato and Mozzarella in probably the best tasting balsamic vinegar you'll ever have. Its so good that when you ask them what they do to the balsamic vinegar to make it taste so good, they don't tell you. It pisses me off but I guess Ill have to just keep getting it here. We never get desserts here cause we are usually stuffed from dinner although the sorbets are nice with an espresso after a full dinner. Go with at least 4 people and you wont be dissapointed. This is a great place with an extremely friendly staff that makes you feel at home.
We celebrated our anniversary here last night and had a really nice meal. We have been coming to this restaurant for 25 years and always have a decent meal. Last night the linguini and clam sauce was delicious and so was the burnt broccoli. We had Cesar salad (although my husband loves he la Parma salad) and the service was excellent. The secret to coming to any La Parma is go during the week. You will avoid the crowds and enjoy the ambiance.
I gave them two stars- one for a great waiter/quick service, and the second for very good Meatballs and Spaghetti, Eggplant Parm and Italian cheesecake. However, that is where it ends.
The "decor" if you can call it that, is very 70's, the Chicken Piccata, while moist, was tasteless- but the REAL question is why would anyone come to a place where you literally have to scream to hear your dinner companions who are sitting right across the table?
I get the fact that "family style" may attract larger tables – but they just pack them in with no thought to their customers' comfort. They have multiple large tables in a not so large room, so the noise level was UNBEARABLE. The tables were so close together, that my friend had to actually get up to let people at the table next to us pass by. Why put yourself through that to eat good, but not great Italian food? Sorry, I'll take a pass next time.
This is a very good old school family style Italian restaurant. My family goes here for almost everyone's birthday party. The food is good. My favorite dish is the boneless chicken scarpariello with the sausage and potatoes. The penne ala vodka is great also. The restaurant gets packed on the weekends because everyone here is celebrating something. Check this place out.
