  1. I was a little sceptical to go in here but a 9 pm and not knowing the city I decided to give it a try.

There isn't a lot of room inside. They have a few more tables then they can actually seat comfortably. Despite this the place looks quite nice. The staff isn't the friendliest but the sushi was very good. I got the American boy which was a good portion for $20.

They serve bubble tea as well however it is made from powder and not fresh fruit. Not a bad place if your craving sushi in a pinch.

  2. Recommended from a friend to order via seamless. It's good for what it is. I ordered two hand rolls (tuna and salmon) and a tuna avocado roll. Good thing is they definitely put enough fish in the hand rolls. Could be a good place to order from in the future

  3. Sushi wasn't bad. I had it delivered and I'm guessing it's better if eaten at the restaurant. Delivery didn't take too long. Overall it was a regular sushi place, and if you're craving sushi and don't want to spend a fortune, I would try this. If anything just to knock it off the list if you wanted to try sushi places in the area. Seems like a safe go-to. I would order from here again…. It's like when you find a generic pizza place that you know will taste the same every time you order from it.

  4. I can be pretty nervous about ordering sushi delivery from a new place in the city…probably because of so many bad experiences, but this one didn't disappoint. Ordered the eel avocado roll and salmon cone roll, and both were totally delicious. Can't speak for the location or service since I ordered delivery, but they did deliver in under 45 min so that makes them great in my book.

  5. Decently fast delivery.

Sushi was okay, nothing special. Didn't wreak of freshness really. Wasn't the worst I've gotten in the city, but definitely defrosted too fast.

The miso soup tasted like it was made from bad tap water. It smelled like an indoor pool. Didn't F with that very long.

The seaweed salad was good but here's the kicker, they pad the bottom of the container with romaine and just top it off with a little bit of seaweed salad. Great fluff job there!

The shrimp dumpling tasted like you were eating goldfish food flakes, VERY fishy.

All in all not worth the price considering the quality and quantity.

  6. Definitely not the most authentic sushi but it did taste fresh. Got the lunch sushi bento box — large amount of food but it was also $15. There was just a huge serving of rice, 3 pieces of a California roll (avocado only), 3 assorted sushi pieces (which were room temp, should have been more chilled when they gave it to us), 3 shrimp dumplings, a lettuce salad, bowl of miso soup, ginger based dressing and the necessary soy sauce, wasabi and gari. The sushi was all good and I especially liked the shrimp dumplings. The wasabi here tasted a bit different, but in a good way! I believe the burn was stronger with this one. Additionally, the soy sauce and miso soup were not as salty as I have gotten before — which was great!

Overall, good for a quick fish fix, but definitely not authentic sushi by any means. On the more expensive side for a simple lunch!

  7. We still like JR Sushi, but the quality & tastiness are a bit hit or miss in that sometimes it's great and others it's just ok. They now allow you to bring your own wine and don't seem to charge a corkage fee.  There are even cards promoting nearby Frankly Wines (yelp.com/biz/frankly-win…).

  8. This is my go-to spot when I'm looking for some quick and delicious sushi! While their delivery can be a little slow sometimes (just make sure you allot for that when ordering), I have never had a complaint about their food. The sushi is always very fresh and flavorful.
