I only ate at La Parma once, but I definitely would like to go back again. Their portions are HUGE, so share everything. Try the calamari, chicken parmesan with a side of any pasta (they are all equally tasty). Also, they have a nice cocktail menu. I believe I had a pomegranate drink. Yum!
My friends and I were really exhausted and famished by the time we came here because we had all just spent the entire day visiting potential wedding venues. In most cases, if a person is hungry, anything and everything they eat pretty much tastes delicious. However as ravenous as we all were, none of us were quite impressed with the taste of their food.
Their shrimp oreganata was tasty, but it's hard to go wrong with such a simple dish. Their rigatoni (a la vodka) needed to be cooked about 2-3 minutes longer because there's nothing worse than having to eat undercooked pasta. Also, their calamari just…sucked, for the lack of better words. I didn't feel that the dishes were really worth the hefty price tag — although the dishes were served in hefty, family-sized portions.
Their bread was really good though — I would go back here just to eat their bread (must find out where they get their bread).
Excellent food. Views aren't as great as Louie's next door nor is the bar crowd. But the food is great. A nice place for a family dinner or for large parties.
We went here for a rehearsal dinner. The food was awesome and the family sharing was perfect for trying lots of dishes. Standouts for me were the stuffed mushrooms, the chicken parm, and the salmon.
I came here for a wedding rehearsal dinner on a Friday night back in November. We were sat in a great little area slightly raised in front of the bar and very private. The service was outstanding. The food, served family style, was delicious and never ending. I feel like we ate for hours. It was so good too that you just kept piling whatever came out next on your plate. It was great that the dishes all came out individually too. Some people might complain about that, but it was nice to get the sides right after the main dishes so you could really gauge how much you wanted while each dish remained hot. The drinks were kept flowing and the servers working the party really stayed on top of things. I would highly recommend a party here, or even dinner based on how delicious the food was alone!
I have no clue why people rate this place so low, it's family style awesome Italian food. I actually yell at my girlfriend if she goes without me, next time she might be gone. (Don't tell her she'll kill me).
Their tortellini Alfredo is the type of pasta that I like to eat until no more or until my button hits me in the face and I'm unconscious, it is that good and I'm not a fan of Alfredo.
The rest of food is just as good, that just happens to be my favorite. I've had their chicken, pork and sausages dishes and I always go for seconds.
The waiters are always knowledgable and help me pair a bottle of wine with what we've ordered.
The location is nice and you can get there by boat if it is a beautiful day. I really enjoy this restaurant and recommend it to anybody in Long Island, you will not be disappointed.
