  1. I came here with my Colombian friends for cholados which is a Colombian slushy with fresh fruit, condensed milk and crushed ice. It is to die for! I love there cholados considering I always had to go to Queens before to get them. It's a little pricy but I guess it's because its in long island. However, I highly recommend their cholados!

  2. Let me preface this review first that it is just about the way the business operates…not the food itself. Sadly it was not a viable option for me to try out the food and satisfy my arepas craving due to the way they run the place. So the lady who first picked up the phone did not really speak English, fine. She transferred me to a second lady who said they do not deliver to New Hyde Park and only up to Franklin Square, which is understandable since NHP can get pretty far. I called back a second time to clarify that I was actually only two minutes away from Franklin Square…she had to verify with I suppose was the manager, and then proceeded to tell me that they will deliver but under a $40 minimum, which the site failed to mention at all. All it said was "FREE DELIVERY!!!" numerous times. I was obviously disappointed because I was not about to order $40+ of arepas and food just for myself. Not sure if this standard would apply if I was under Franklin Square or Hempstead zip code, but whatever. I'm going to stick to my go-to arepas joint in the East Village, which is phenomenal by the way. Pretty sure they won't force me to order $40+ worth of food in order to fulfill a 10 min max delivery drive. PS: Also slightly sketchy that they don't have a prior Yelp page at all…their facebook posts are from like three years ago. And their google reviews on the 4.7 stars are sparse as well. I was going to take a leap of faith trying to order too….I guess thank goodness I did not.

  3. I've been here a total of three times. I've had two amazing experiences and one so-so one. Firstly, their current menu and their online menu are NOT the same and that's super unfortunate because their online menu has way more options and the employees don't speak fluent English so it would be easier to order food over the phone by number but if you're referencing the online menu, the numbers won't/don't match the restaurant menu. The first time I dined in and ordered a dish with skirt-steak, rice and beans, fried eggs, fried plantain, and a side salad. It was a lot of food for the price and it was delicious. I also ordered a cholada which I had been dying to try and it was greaaaaat, A+ experience. I then went in last week to order a sandwich off the online menu but when I was given the new menu, the sandwich (El Mejor) wasn't on there. I was super bummed but my fiancé asked if they could make it for me anyway and they did. BUT WHATTTT, this was the best sandwich I had ever eaten, hand downs, tears for this sandwich. The bread was super crispy and there was copious amounts of mayo, which I love, and the steak was cooked perfectly. Perfect sandwich. Because I'm a glutton I went back a few days ago for the same sandwich. I tried to order over the phone but the woman who picked up was having a hard time understanding so I just ended up stopping in and showing her the online menu. Once again, they made the sandwich for me but it was different. The bread wasn't crispy and there was A LOT of avocado, it was basically guacamole spread on my sandwich, it also didn't have any mayo on it. It was pretty depressing. But overall, I would recommend this place for what I think if authentic Colombian food, I would just order off their in-restaurant menu.
