Why does this place has three different names for the same restaurant? Search for Hachember and Dodompa and you'll see they all belong to 71 Clinton Street. I picked Bar Otsumami to review because 1) this Yelp listing has the most reviews so far and 2) It's what the Google Streets sign says it is. (I have no recollection of what their actual signage was due to darkness and such.)
I was firstly quite put off by the fact that my boyfriend and I were seated basically right next to another couple. They pulled apart two tables for us, but there was about a 1-inch gap between the tables and we very quickly decided that the bar would be a much more desirable option.
Then the food. I ordered yakisoba with seafood, and the rubbery squid and chalky mussels just didn't cut it for me. The ramen was basically a salt lick in a bowl. The place's redeeming quality is how cheap everything is, but considering that I need a second meal to sate my appetite, it better be.
