This place never disappoints me ! I love Arrirang. The sushi to get here is my favorite. It is so fresh and tender. People come here for the show and the chef really know how to make you laugh. They cook front of you which is exciting. The problem with downstairs is your at a table of like 8, and let's say you come with 2 people, you have to wait until the table fills up. On the weekends this isn't a problem because it's always packed.. Your probably better off going upstairs if you have seen this cook, cook in front of you. The wait is shorter
Okay so 5 stars because to date it's the best hibachi I've had. You can't beat it – between Manhattan and Staten Island. I've been to Benihana, and also to the Miyako (not too far from Arirang), and neither compare.
They have great hibachi steak, chicken, and shrimp. I love their coconut shrimp tempura (not sure if that's still on the menu – it's been a while since I've been). The show is better then the other hibachi places I've been and the ambiance is kinda nice too.
Overall you may have to wait to get a table and you may have to pay a little more than you would expect but it is definitely worth the wait.
Who doesn't love this place? It's always a good time, especially when you go with first timers. The chefs are funny and wildly entertaining and try to include everyone at the table. I always get the hibachi chicken with fried rice, which comes with vegetables and pieces of shrimp. The meal comes with soup and salad. For appetizers, we always get the rock shrimp, coconut shrimp and fried calamari-all delicious! On my recent visit, I tried the rock shrimp roll with spicy tuna-what a good choice! The food is on the salty side, so make sure you drink plenty of water. They don't take reservations, but have preferred seating. They will not seat you until the entire party arrives. For those going for a birthday, you get to take a picture home with you! The restaurant is super clean, so get there today if you have never been!
I had heard so many great things about this place so I figured we try it. It was a sunday afternoon, and I think they had just opened at 3. It was very quiet until a group of children came in for a party. The space is 2 levels. The food was good. We opted for non-hibachi.
I definitely recommend this place!
Ive come to arirang many times. My bf and i usually love the sushi and hibachi. we usually sit upstairs by the sushi bar. Recently we have seen the service and food declining. We had order edamame and when we got it, it was cold, dry and unsalted. the gyoza was very good. When the sushi came the sushi rice had a funny taste like it wasnt prepared properly. We look forward to the fried rice and when we got that it was unseasoned. We didnt have drinks for the whole meal because the waiter never came to check. its really sad and disappointing we really loved this place unfortunately we wont back.
Came here for regular dinner. We started with a hot and sour soup and miso soup. The hot and sour soup was so hot that it was inedible, and the miso soup was salty and just didnt taste right. From the sushi menu, we had the angel kiss roll which was good and spicy tuna roll which was ok. For our main meal we ordered a crab cake which was really gross and rock shrimp which were just ok. Our server was very friendly and the manager came by to greet us and say hello. There was a woman singing in the main dining area which was nice. I used to come here all the time when I worked near by and the food used to be way better.
Always a fun time here. Came for a friends birthday and the chef put on a great show for us. The food seems like it's never ending and my steak was cooked perfectly. Would also recommends the fried ice cream for dessert!
