I use to bartend right next door to this place and the tacos here were great! The service was quick and they also had a pool table inside if you wanted to hang around. I use to order chicken guaco loco and was always pleased with my order.
They make wonderful mixed drinks and their sauces are all tasty.
I would recommend anyone to try this place if they are craving tacos or a quick bite to eat.
This place was okay. I didn't realize this place was gringo Mexican food so I suppose my anticipation of "real" Mexican food set the bar too high. Service was okay, guacamole was okay and they have decent vegan options but I'm not really one for hard shell tacos with cheddar cheese. It was like an upscale Taco Bell if such a thing exists.
This new location of San Loco really is a great addition to the neighborhood, I was very pleased with my visit.
The new location seems a lot more cozy and laid back, it is smaller then the old location, but the old location was loud and rowdy and there was just too much going. they had some tv shows on, sports games and clean wooden tables all around the restaurant with carpeting against the wall, sort of Aztec looking.
In this place there are no servers or waitresses here, all you have to do is place your order by the cashier and then pick it up after, tips are certainly appreciated though.
the menu here is hefty, I like how you can pretty much make anything a grande size from burritos to quesadillas and tacos [either crunchy or soft] . quesadillas are 6-8 while tacos are 4-5 bucks per taco, and enchiladas are about 10 dollars, so the prices are decent and the food is very filling.
we decided to just get grounded and shredded beef and chicken tacos[crunchy] with everything in it [cheese tomato lettuce and salsa] and you can make it spicier at your own discretion, it was delicious , flavorful and didn't fall apart , it really did taste like homemade food.
You can also just have some nachos and grab some drinks, they have a fully stocked bar with various margaritas and tequila drinks, and best part of all the place is open until 3 in the morning.
they also take credit cards , not cash only.
one star is taken off for the dirty unisex bathroom , this place is pretty new so it shouldn't be so dirty.
Nice staff, but the food is not quite on par with the locations in Manhattan. On my first and only visit, I ordered the Gringo style cheese enchiladas, which features 2 cheese-stuffed enchiladas covered in beef chili. Unfortunately, the cheese inside the enchiladas was only lukewarm, pretty much ruining the entrée. I mean, cheese enchiladas should be dripping with melty cheese and not served at almost room temperature. Ugh, and the chili on top was not even steamy enough to melt the cheese. I was not a happy camper.
On this visit, my BF Tony ordered one of the Loco Bowls (think naked burrito). He ordered the chicken variety, which was very skimpy in size, barely had any chicken in it, and was also just lukewarm. Note that margaritas at this location were spot on, so at least the drinks were enjoyable.
This place is spacious and features a trendy, contemporary look inside… unlike the Manhattan locations, which are cramped and not as updated. It would be great if this location could get their act together and strengthen their food prepping skills.
I come here when I'm consignment shopping. It's fast and tasty. I got the carnitas tacos today and traditional chicken. It's dog walking day and kids with families. Come check it out. YUMMM
The new location doesn't serve the pitchers of Margaritas! Nevertheless the tacos and bowls are still very tasty.
this place was really just offensive to my sensibilities. After several months of a detox from alcohol and stress…I decided to have a few drinks at my girlfriend's birthday party. Feeling pretty tipsy and spending the night in Williamsburg, those drunk munchies hit me hard on my way to my friend's apartment off the L.
So, at that moment, I was experiencing my first drop of alcohol in months, an insatiable and very loud tum tum, full bladder and the need to roll myself a wee spliff after a night out.
Mistake I made: stumbling into San Loco and expecting that at least my hunger could be satiated. This was a horrendous attempt at Mexican and should not be allowed to claim that distinguished label. Uh-uh, not having it…."aw nah, hell nah" comes to mind.
me and my girl call ourselves "fancy" ordering some "queso loco" thing they have on the menu, and enchiladas. weak flavors, tasted like a gringo made it, chunky and cheap sour cream…oh yeah, my mole was chilled (didn't realize I ordered gazpacho as garnish) and none of this made me want to say "OLÉ". they can refund my money…no need- i just won't be returning. queso loco was supposed to be some kind of very cheesy taco with shredded chicken and lame guac inside. the rice was dry and oh…sorry, what the hell kind of Mexican restaurant ain't got no jalapeños?! done and done
if my drunk ass couldn't finish this sad, sad meal…I'd hate to swing by this place when I'm sober. thank the universe for those medicated treats we had in the fridge, after that meal got tossed! definitely make sure you've spent ample time at the bar before you pop into San Loco…because they are LOCO for trying to sell me that sheet.
We decide to stop by for a quick bite before going out for drinks in the area. Upon arrival I though to myself I didn't know there was a location here ?
came to find out from my friend that the previous location in the area had been moved here not bad.
All the times I have been to the previous San Loco location I never tried the Beef Nachos I decided to so this time around , I had the Ball park size size I wasn't crazy hungry perfect for picking good nacho, plenty of meat with some cheese & sour cream little bit of a kick to the sauce not bad at all.
My friend had his usual Chicken macho tacos , can't really go wrong here good chicken with plenty of fixings on top with sour cream & guacamole, normally my go to dish when I visit one of these.
we wanted something sweet & decide to try the Apple loco I believe it's called now this is interesting to say the least its a tortila with cinnamon sugar & apples on top with some cheese as well I have to say it taste better than it looks only because when u get it it just looks like a slop of goo on top kinda funky but it had a nice taste the tortilla was sweet along with the apples made for a nice treat.
as for the restaurant nice size , interesting decor , cheap prices & quick service what more can you ask for.
The food as usual like in other locations was great , nice & fresh tasting this place is good.
