Maybe I've been spoiled by Los Tacos No. 1 and Dorado Tacos, but the tacos here really don't really grab me. This is not to say that they're bad. They're decent. I will say that I really liked the garbanzo & hongo (chick pea & mushroom) taco, and that the fish taco was good.
If you plan to eat there, be forewarned: the place is small and the seating is cramped. I am not a large man, but I had problems getting my legs between the stools (the stools are nailed down, so you can't move them). Today, somebody sat in the stool behind me. I thought the person was a giant, but discovered a petite woman was sitting there.
The staff, on the other hand, are excellent. They are super friendly and efficient. I'm tempted to add an extra star for them.
Yum! Colleagues suggested I try this place and man, I'm glad they did. It's similar in design to lots of other places that have grown in popularity recently, where you pick your base and then your protein, but with a Latin flare. You start by selecting your base–tacos, salads, burritos, bowls, etc.–and then you pick your protein–pollo, carnitas, carne asada, chorizo, pescado, garbanzo y hongos.
I opted for the tacos–3 come in an order–and mixed them up: carnitas, chorizo and pescado. Everything was fresh and tasty. The chorizo was my favorite; nice and spicy.
Great spot to pop into for lunch.
Take extra napkins!
