Perfection! What a find! Right underneath the 1 train stop at 207th street and Nagel Avenue is this unassuming and charming Mexican restaurant. And very authentic! Plus, surprisingly fast & friendly service!
My cecina (salted beef) plater was one of the most satisfying, gratifying dishes I've eaten in a long time; and some of the most true to tradition Mexican food I've had in years — it had been far too long… So many grilled beautiful vegetables (jalapenos, onions, tomatoes which I guess are actually a fruit but whatever), unflappable beans & rice & tortillas, and boy oh boy is the cecina everything it always should be but basically never is.
$13 for a gigantic platter of food and a tallboy of Arizona iced-tea is just heaven.
