Disclaimer: I like Chexican. It's usually cheap and fast, there are usually vegetarian thangs (not always so in the world of fast/cheap/bad-for-you food) and it's usually fresh, plus I find it far more palatable than the cardboardy magic that is Taco Bell – also, you're usually within delivery range of like 3 different Chexican spots if you live anywhere in NYC. I like not having to put shoes on and have some fried, Tex Mex pastiche appear so quickly it's as though the restaurant is reading my mind.
That said, this is… not good. The guacamole taco I got tasted like, I don't know, weird mayo? Fish mayo? Egg anchovies? Something weird and upsetting that doesn't reasonably live inside a guacamole taco in this dimension. The cheese on my nachos was one congealed wafer, yet mysteriously, none of it was melted. This whole thing was like some kind of bizarre science experiment that I didn't want to be involved in, actually, so I allowed the experiment to continue in the garbage.
You know when you get super cheap genre-defying food and it tastes a little too unlike both genres, and then you start watching the clock, wondering if your food is going to suddenly and violently be expelled from your internal organs? Yeah… That's where I am right now. DO NOT WANT.
