  1. This place is simply amazing. It deserves the rating it has. Sushi is fresh and so delicious. The service is fantastic and they even give you dishes to try at no charge. On top of that I found there to be more food on my plate than I expected. For example my sashimi sampler had more pieces than advertised.  Run don't walk to Kenko. If we lived near here I'd go weekly. Enjoy!

  2. The service at this establishment goes above and beyond, which is why I'm not surprised it has gotten such rave reviews. Quite honestly, the sushi is not the best I've ever had. There was way too much rice on the rolls in proportion to the fish inside it. However, they were so generous to give us a free special roll on the house and free mochi ice cream as well. I also really enjoyed the miso soup (came free with rolls), their ginger dressing on the house salad, and their green tea which must have been a special blend because it was sooo good. I would definitely return and maybe try some other rolls or just sushi/sashimi options. But I was definitely pleased with the service and how generous they were.

  3. Amazing!!! Ordered take out from here. The woman on the phone was super friendly and accommodating that I didn't want mayo on my Lobster Roll. When I picked it up, she remembered and assured me there was no mayo. So important to me!

The pricing here is not bad at all (even for the Lobster Roll), as they offer specials for rolls and special rolls together with a soup or salad. The fish tasted super fresh and I loved the consistency! The edamame was cooked well. Generous portion of ginger and wasabi.

Also included in the bag was a complimentary roll with a nice message. Definitely becoming my go-to sushi spot!

  4. How the heck does one place get so many 5 stars??? Kenko has the formula…. supa fresh creative sushi, supa nice peeps, and free stuff!   to boot, great prices, easy, accommodating and delishumdo!  Gorilla was really good!  I think the fry KANI in crunch on top so may not be the most slimming dish (wear an outfit with vertical stripes).  Naruto was full of FRESH seafood, lincoln park was DA BOMB, our last roll angels ride or something was also amazeballs

we even broke a glass and no one cared
we let the kids eat pizza and no one cared
    THEY GAVE US FREE DESSERT!!!!!!!

    GO check it out!

  5. My friend told me about this place, so i have to try it out… I will definitely come back to try more since one time is not enough to try all their goodies, but i do have to say… go there for sashimi!!!! their portion are a lot bigger compare to other sushi place… and they tasted very very fresh!!! they do have a lot of different kind of roll… and i think their roll are ok… very similar to other sushi place where they make their own special sauce and own combination… but do try the sashimi!!! highly recommended!!!!
OH… do try the tea… they came in a giant pot and you just have to put that on top of you cup and team will come out… the smell of the tea is so sweet (peach?!?) and taste very very good… unlimited refill and they don't cost you anything!!!
OH ALSO!!! they also give you a little something for free too… and i think that's very nice of them… they were very busy even on a thursday night (after 7!!) so you know this place is good….

  6. Had this place bookmarked for a while based on the rave reviews and finally came here with one of my girls. So glad I found this place!

The sushi is really good and fresh. Portion sizes are generous and their presentation is excellent. I ordered the Blue Ocean and Kenko Special and I really enjoyed them both. In the middle of eating our dinner, the staff surprises us with a complimentary roll – the Seaworld roll (which is not on the menu). We both enjoyed it and it was really sweet of them to do (reading other reviews, it seems like this is a common thing they do which I think is awesome)! We also ordered tea which was free of charge and tasted so good – really fruity and they were very good at refilling it. They serve it in a really unique pot too (check out my photo).

The restaurant is on the smaller size, I'm not sure how busy it gets on the weekends but weekdays it's just fine. Parking on the street was not an issue. Staff is excellent – super friendly and attentive. I had a really great experience here and I will be coming back.

  7. Great local sushi spot and its BYO. Came here on a Monday night around 7PM and got the last open table. Granted, this place is really small but Kenko was bumpin, especially for a Monday night.

Food overall was good, to start I had the Edamame, which was delicious. Next up, Avocado salad..the greens were good and the avocado was fresh but the ginger dressing is disgusting. Its very chunky and the consistency is not dressing-like at all. They need to get a new ginger dressing ASAP, it was so disappointing and ruined the salad.

As far as specialty roles, their list is extensive and definitely has something for any type of sushi lover. Overall i enjoyed all three rolls that I ordered but my only complaint is that the pieces were HUGE. Beyond huge, unrealistic to fit in your mouth which in turn makes it not so enjoyable to eat.

-Manhattan roll: spicy tuna, cream cheese, cucumber with crunchy scallion, keki spicy & teriyaki sauce….my favorite out of the 3 I ordered, next time I'll ask they hold some of the crunchy scallion, it was a tad too much.

-Pink Salmon: salmon, cucumber, avocado, with spicy sauce on top…good!

-Monster: shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocado, crab kenko, Korean spicy sauce on top….good but the Korean spicy sauce was overpowering, I liked it but it just needed a drizzle, not a bath!

Service is really friendly and they gave us a snapper appetizer and ice cream on the house, very nice. However, when they brought the rolls out they didnt take the time to explain which roll was what. I would have appreciated that instead of doing a tasting to try and figure it out.

Overall, good experience, next time I'll ask that they make my rolls smaller and I really hope they change their ginger dressing!

  8. What can say other than DELICIOUS !!! The sushi in this little spot is so fresh and on point . We had a taste of quite a few things and each item was just as delicious as the next . The hot tea was some of the best I have ever had and the infuser it comes in is pretty nifty. The Gyoza, seaweed salad and Kani salad were full of flavor . The spicy sashimi salad had a kick but super delicious . The dragon , the kiss of fire and the fresh sashimi was just as delicious . They even gave us a special treat from chef and it was like butter .They even have green tea Mochi that my little ones enjoyed. This place is nestled in a little town a few miles off 287 and it was definitely worth the drive.
