This Asian fusion restaurant is a hidden gem. Off a main road and parking is somewhat difficult. There were a bit understaffed so it took awhile to even get drinks. Luckily my family and I were in no rush. The food here is amazing!!! We ordered all sorts of dishes. I recommend the pineapple coconut fried rice with chicken. I thought it was pricy at first but when I saw the portion size it was justified. My husband ordered sushi, shumai, and beef pad Thai. All delicious! I can't wait to come back here.
Japanese French Thai? I was frightened, but had a good meal.
Water was really bad, even after adding lemon. Tasted like dish soap was left in the glass. This really bothered me, maybe more than it should have, but I usually don't complain about this kind of thing. The re-usable plastic cups are just a bad idea in any restaurant.
This place has alot of potential, but I doubt they will be able to compete with the many other sushi places in town. Atmosphere was great. I loved the strong smell of lavender. Its always cool when places stick to a theme. It also looks like they have lots of seating for such a small place which is good.
The spicy salmon rolls had too many tempura flakes. It was like 1/3rd tempura.
Price was good, very comparable to other places nearby.
We had a Groupon deal and figured we try it since it's a couple of exits down on the LIE. But we ultimately let the groupon expire because we never found ourselves in the area.
Last Saturday, we found ourselves at Green Acre shopping center, which happened to be a quick drive from the restaurant. We found ourselves in love with the quaint little neighborhood. Everything seemed like it was from a story book.
The restaurant itself was quiet since we came for an early dinner. The wait staff was great and very attentive.
The food was awesome and all the dishes we chose was great with the exception of the rock shrimp. Personally, I thought the dish tried to do too much with its use of potatoes. But maybe others will like it. The soy garlic sea bass was truly exceptional. I wish they had this an an entree selection.
definitely worth the Groupon we paid for (even though we didn't get the promotional value) and then some. We will definitely be a regular since now we know how good their dishes are and if we're ever in need of an escape from hectic Queens.
This is our local lunching joint for work. It makes a lot of people happy because it's a lot of food, it's fast and the price is fair. The bento box is a good deal. I go and enjoy with my co workers but the food is very average and it's inconsistent. The sushi rice is a little dry and falls flat. I never feel very good after leaving this restaurant but given it has a big menu maybe if I try some other dishes I'll find something that will allow me to enjoy lunch with my co workers more.
A casual Thai fusion spot with affordable lunch specials. Less than 5 mins from my office, too. Any entrée can be upgraded into a bento box for an additional $1.50 – which I recommend doing. Solid food and large portions. The pad thai and pineapple coconut fried rice are pretty good. But I once ordered shrimp and they gave me beef instead. 🙁
As far as their Japanese food goes, the maki rolls are alright but I suggest going for their sushi and sashimi instead. The white tuna is superior to the rest of their fish. Passable miso soup and salad with ginger dressing. I would order delivery from them again out of convenience – it only took half an hour to get my food after checking out through the Seamless app.
Very nice date night kind of restaurant on long island. I was very impressed with the volcano roll. I honestly thought it was just a regular sushi roll, but it came out with flames in the middle to keep the roll warm haha. That was pretty cool. The rock tempura shrimp was okay. It was crispy but not the kind of flavor I was expecting. Their coconut pineapple fried rice was good and so was their drunken noodles. The only thing that really stood out was the volcano roll though to be honest.
This place is one of my favorite Thai spots on Long Island. Discovered it when I used to work in the area about 3 years ago, and we used to order into the office for lunch on the regular. I don't work around there anymore, so when I have a craving I have to jump in the car and trek it to Great Neck.
Here are the 3 dishes that single-handedly won me over.
Medley De Coquillages
(Lobster tail, shrimp, and scallops)
Chicken Spicy Stir Fried String Beans
(Stir-fried string beans with basil, chili paste and lime leaves.)
&
Pad Thai
I always tend to judge a Thai place by their Pad Thai. After all, it's a staple of Thai food, and if you can't get it right, your other food probably isn't much better.
This place HANDS DOWN makes my favorite Pad Thai. They give you soooo many shrimp, its not too sweet and has some spiciness to it, plenty of peanuts/egg/tofu.
Def. NOT stingy with the portions.
I've had the majority of menu items, and they were all good, but these are usually my go-to.
Reasonably priced.
