  1. Excellent sushi spot in Garden City.  Great for groups and the rolls are delicious!  Highly recommend the fresh dragon roll and the standard salmon/avocado was delicious as well.  If you're craving sushi and happen to be in Garden City, then look no further.  Highly recommend this place!

  2. Ordered takeout from here via GrubHub when back visiting family in NY.

Pleasant delivery person delivered within estimated delivery window on all three occasions.
Order correct on all three occasions.

Loved their Nabe Yaki Udon. Shrimp Tempura was also crisp and flavorful.

Chicken teriyaki was tender and well-prepared but, a milder flavor than I prefer.

All around, still a solid option for the area.

  3. Being that there are 3 sushi places right in a row in this location, we picked this one at random. That being said, I think we made the right choice!

Quick and attentive service, clean and pleasant ambiance, and a TON of menu options. We ordered a ton of rolls – all of which were delicious. The best part was how every member of their staff said goodbye and thank you on our way out. The cooks even came out of the kitchen to say thanks! It was adorable.

I will DEFINITELY be returning – and you should too!

  4. Love love love this place. The food is really delicious and authentic.

I went with my coworker for lunch and we were seated immediately. We ordered an appetizer and our entrées and the only thing bad I could say about this restaurant is that it took them a while to bring us our food.

I ordered the chicken teriyaki lunch bento box with the harumaki appetizer which is like an eggroll. The food was very delicious and I will definitely return at another time.

  5. I was here a few weeks back for dinner on a week night after hearing from a friend about the food. I was pleasantly surprised at their service, the quality of the food and the freshness. While I can't remember what the rest of my party ordered, I remember ordering for appetizer to share, the Salmon Tartar (on top of diced mango, served with yuzu soy sauce). I had the American Dream roll (shrimp tempura, spicy crab, eel, avocado with soy wrap, topped with spicy seared salmon and eel sauce) and a salmon hand roll. I know.. salmon overload, but it was so tasty. Salmon was cut well and they did not skimp on it. The salmon tartar went surprisingly well with the mango and yuzu soy; very light, well balanced flavors. We shared everything and I remembered all the rolls came out quick and tasted pretty good. Seeing as this place is so close to home and one of the better sushi spots around, I'm definitely coming back for more.

  6. We ordered take out from Kaji today and I was very impressed. I ordered the spicy tuna, Philadelphia roll and the chicken tempura and all three were delicious.

The spicy tuna is pretty classic. It's not the best I've ever had but definitely wasn't bad. The Philadelphia roll was delicious with the right combo of cream cheese and smoked salmon. The chicken tempura I thought was the worst of the three. The chicken pieces were small and most of the roll was stuffed with cut up cucumber.

My only complaint would be the size of the sushi. I fortunately ordered 3 rolls so I was full but each piece is small and the amount of fish in each roll leaves much to be desired

Overall not a bad takeout experience. We will definitely be back again

  7. Went here today (5-5-16) with my cousin for lunch. We went around 12:40pm. There were few occupied tables. The food was fresh, almost too fresh. The sushi still had bones inside it and made some of my bites unpleasant (hence the 3 stars).

The miso soup was brought out luke warm — I guess, so as, not to burn one's palate. But I would have preferred to see the steam from a hot dish exposed.

The service was very good and attentive. Great wa(i)ter service too!

There was a table of 6 in the front corner and they were celebrating a birthday. They overly blasted music to go with the theme and they did it twice because they messed up the first round so the party of 6 asked them to replay it again. The really should think about toning it down so that people who are not there for a birthday can hear themselves speak and continue to speak to one another.

Ambiance is dark yet calming. The room temperature was more warm than cold, which was a huge plus for me.

I would go back again, but I'll have to remember to watch for bones!

  8. Really good sushi in the area. The service is good and the menu offers a wide variety of food and drinks. The inside of the resturant is modern and well kept. The only reason why I don't give Kaji a 5-star review is because the windows allow a strong breeze to come from the outside and it can get really cold inside the restaurant near that window area. All in all, good resturant and a good experience! Must try.
