This is a good place for a quick bite if you're looking to avoid the food court. Sushi is good quality and service is decent, could be a tad friendlier. I found it to be a decent value for 'mall food.'
I love sushi but this is not one of my favorites. My fiancé and I came here on a whim because I really wanted sushi and didn't feel like walking down to the food court as our car was located right outside this sushi place. Located as a kiosk inside the Garden State Plaza, I guess I really can't expect the sushi to be that great and fresh. The price for this place is great though. Two rolls with salad/soup for only $10, it's definitely worth the price.
I ordered a spicy tuna roll and a spicy salmon roll to which was only ok. I thought the tuna was a little dry and the salad dressing was a little too chunky for my liking. I had the miso soup which was ok. I do suggest people to try it for those who are craving sushi while shopping at the mall! You really can't beat the price!
Great spot. Small kiosk in the new Fashion District (ritzy section) of Garden State Plaza. I'm usually leery of sushi vendors in MALLS… However, this spot definitely didn't disappoint.
I ordered the Angry Dragon roll. Phenomenal. While most of us stick to the traditional maki rolls wrapped in seaweed-then-rice (or vice-versa), this particular roll was wrapped in seaweed followed by SURIMI [imitation crab meat]. Most people would frown upon a faux-fish being referred to as decadent. But Lasaka wrapped the roll in surimi that was shredded, almost resembling ramen noodles. Delicious. Taste-wise, I'd order it ANY day. Price-wise? Eh, not so much. $14 per roll. Save it for when you're feeling a little more liberal in your pockets on a given day.
For the most part, standard pricing. Would definitely recommend this as a place to go if you're shopping in Garden State Plaza, and don't feel like eating in the constantly-packed food court. It sits in the Fashion District which hosts a more tranquil environment than the rest of the mall.
I don't know what happened. When they opened, they were pretty good. Now, the taste is lacking. While the price is still great, I'd rather pay extra and just get awesome sushi elsewhere. Sorry Lasaka.
Lasaka offers a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of the main food court. There is a sushi bar to sit at as well as regular tables. This is a good option for a quick meal and I recommend the $10 deal. The deal allows you to choose two selected sushi rolls (the fancier rolls are more expensive) along with a soup or a salad. Lasaka is probably the best sushi I've had at a mall.
My husband and I stopped here for a quick bite last night.
It is located in the mall, it is a little "kiosk" type of stand, but they do offer a nice variety.
Average price, regular rolls are 6 pieces and specialty rolls are 8 pieces. They have a few tables or you can sit right at the sushi bar and watch the sushi chef make all your sushi. Everything we had was fresh and delicious. It wouldn't be my first choice, but we would go back if and when we are in the mall again.
Go check it out.
