  1. This review is for the take out side only.  I called around noon today.  They put me on hold for an exceptional amount of time and said the wait for pick up is 25 minutes.

The take out side does have a lot of prepared take out food.  The employees keep the line moving although the manger (maybe owner) ensures that.  I got three marinated artichokes and they came to about $6! That's way too steep! My take out salad was gigantic, but she did forget the caesar dressing.

The food is excellent here.  Some glitches with take out but it's still a five star spot.  Just make sure you call ahead and leave ample time.  Oh and it's not cheap, but it is quality. There's a reason they fill up for lunch.  They were out of chocolate covered strawberries again today.

  2. What a great find in Staten Island! They serve some amazing (and HUGE) sandwiches here. I'm sure the bake goods here are good but the sandwiches are where it's at.

I ordered the grilled chicken, mozzarella, broccoli rabe, whole wheat hero. That mozzarella was the best mozzarella I've ever had and the broccoli rabe was the perfect contrast for that sandwich. The only complaint I have would be the chicken. It was sort of dry and not hot. If I order again I would get the same sandwich without the grilled chicken.

The best thing here was the Balsamic reduction! This reduction is a must try here. It's the perfect compliment to the sandwiches here. Drown your sandwich in this reduction, you won't regret it.

Service here is prompt and the staff is decently friendly. I would come back

  3. Ordered 2 bagels and some cookies to take home. First of all, service was horrible. It's completely fine that they're busy on a Saturday afternoon but I was standing there trying to order while the other customers  were quickly approached/acknowledged. The girl who took our order was very not attentive and friendly. It was clear that she didn't wanna take our order and gave us a lot of attitude. Second, our bagels weren't even fucking toasted. got a lox bagel on a cold stale bagel and a cold ham and cheese onion bagel which wasn't toasted either when clearly, other bagels were being toasted right In front of us. Rather much go to cvs and buy prepackaged bagel. Wish it was possible to give 0 stars.

  4. I've been going to Royal Crown for years, since I don't live on the island anymore though, I am not able to get their as often as I would like.  Pastries are usually pretty awesome although I haven't had them in awhile.  I was here a couple of weeks ago to grab lunch with a friend.  She ordered a salad and I had a chicken cutlet sandwich with roasted red pepper, mozzarella and balsamic glaze.  Yes, it is as awesome as it sounds.  What I love about RC is that the portions are normally really big so it's enough for two meals.  Prices are always really reasonable and the products they use are of high quality and always super tasty.  So what's the problem with this great little mainstay in Staten Island?  The service… It took nearly 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge me so I could be seated.  There is a sign when you walk in that says please wait to be seated.  Waitstaff would go back and forth past me when someone finally said, "Oh are you waiting to be seated"?  From there is took another 10-15 minutes for someone to take our order (just a drink order mind you).  Other than that, everything was fine.  It was a little busy, so I will cut them some slack, but enough people were working that we shouldn't have had to wait that long…Maybe next time I'll just go for the take out.

  5. Review for desserts only!

People are like boxes of Desserts….Who cares what's on the outside? It's what's inside that matters!

I had the strawberry short cake and the classic Italian cheesecake…the cheesecake was tasteless! Not creamy….The strawberry short cake bottom half was wet… For a bakery their desserts really sucked…

The bakery is extremely crowed….nice atmosphere… there's a whole menu beside just baked goods… So you can actually grab lunch/dinner here….its bad to eat dessert before dinner because it spoils your appetite and its too sweet for appetite before dinner and eating something sweet after dinner finishes off your hunger..=]

  6. Hello Staten Island Bakery

The selection here is off the hook. Wish I could have tried several item here but per doctors orders, "enjoy sweets in moderation". With that being said, I had a cream puff with chocolate chunks.

The custard was great and the chunks and the soft but yet crisp dough were a perfect combo.

  7. Balsamic vinegar sauce (black sauce) is their everything! I ordered a grilled chicken panini plain with nothing else in it! Then I added some balsamic vinegar and that was it! Heaven!!! Most delicious way to tune up a plain panini! The grilled chicken was made just the way i Iike it, a bit dry because it's white meat but once that sauce was on top of it, you forget all about the meat itself! LOL the panini bread was made good as well! It wasn't extremely burnt or anything! Overall very satisfied! Coming back for more balsamic vinegar! Made I should buy the sauce from them! Haha

  8. The best Cesar salad. It's worth the trip all the way from Brooklyn. I've tried several things here, and they are all great. I know there is a sister
Location in bay ridge, but while on Staten Island this is the only place worth coming to. The salad is huge, they give great amounts of chicken and the dressing is great. I was satisfied for the whole day. Highly recommend it
