  1. I went in solely for take out, and will come back to dine in eventually.

But I wanted to give in my two-cents to the newly opened place, and only for the tacos. Personally, I thought it was $$$…lunch should be cheap and filling isn't it? Yummy as a bonus?
4 tacos = $14-15. I mean, it's not THAT bad, but they weren't yummy nor filling enough to justify that price. Still fairly good, but whoaaa you know? To be fair, I split the food with my girlfriend, so we felt that it was more of a satisfying snack than a lunch.
Soft taco more filling, but the crispy taco more yummy. Just my opinion.

I think I'm being generous with four stars, in hopes that it's all in good faith for when I dine in, and that it's much better. The other food items on the menu look yummy, and it looks fun once their alcohol license is up a month from this review.

  2. Finally got around to trying this place which opened a few blocks from my apt this past fall. After hitting a big 50 bucks on a Cashword I decided to treat my roomie for dinner. The place is small but comfortable if a bit too dark in spots (thank God for cell phone flashlights) the place was very busy on this particular Thursday night and was pretty noisy. The staff did a good job getting to all the tables.
They start off by placing a complimentary dish of chips and salsa on the table, having to pay for this at other places I thought it a nice touch.Problem was as a few other reviewers said the chips are a tad on the stale side. The Salsa was decent so it made it sadder. Not the best first impression. I ordered an original frozen Margarita with salt and things looked up. The drink was a perfect blend, not being too sweet or too strong. They serve sodas in little mason jars and offer free refills which is another nice touch.
As a main course I had the coconut crusted Tilapia which came with a salsa like sauce with tomatoes, pineapples and spices. The dish was good but the fish got a bit mushy under the sauce and after awhile the taste got a bit cloyingly sweet. The sauteed string beans I got as 1 of my sides were pretty good if a bit mushy and the chili topped mashed potatoes was nothing special.  My friend got the "mucho macho nachos" and thankfully the nachos were not stale. Do they keep the comp ones in a separate container than the ones they use in Nacho dishes? It was full of good stuff and she was pretty pleased with it.
For dessert we both got the flan and while they started the meal with a strikeout they finished on a home run! The flan was amazing, it was nice sized but still left you wanting more. My friend looked like she was in orgasmic bliss (She is Latina and takes her flan seriously).
The service was friendly and attentive and I will be back to try other dishes and would love to up their star count.

  3. Halloween October 31 2012 –
In the mist of Hurricane Sandy that caused NYC lockdown, we were just walking in search of new food. I'm not a fan of Mexican food, but I gave this place a try. It was better than what I expected. As ytou walk in, they had a huge plasma screen TV with a full bar on the left and the food on the right. Guys, I think I found a place for you guys to hang out haha. I ordered a Take out of the BBQ chicken quesadilla. It had chopped BBQ chicken, melted chesse and lettuce in a soft flat bread. They also gave u packets of sour cream n hot sauce with a pouch of salsa. Pretty decent for $7.61. Definitely coming back!

  4. I was in the mood for Mexican food. Thinking it's be a but more authentic than Mezcals down the block,  we decided to come here. When the food arrived, it was bland– chilaquiles and mucho nachos. The chilaquiles which are suppose to have tortillas had nacho chips it was a huge miss. As another yelper stated, when you walk, You have to jump up and down to get service from the kitchen. The waiter  was nice though.

  5. The newest taco joint, and it's located about a block away from another mexican option.  The thing is, for the cost and quality, Paco's Tacos might give the other place a run for their money. Two people can grab an appetizer and 2 entrees for less than 20 bucks. I can't really argue with that.

Is it the best taco joint in Brooklyn? No, but it's damn good enough, that's for sure. I'll definitely add this to my rotation of i'm-too-lazy-to-cook-but-dont-wanna-spend-a-ton-on-dinner list. It's always nice to have new businesses open up in South Brooklyn!

I stopped here today on the way back from a long long walk with the dog. I had never tried this place before because Yelp reviews had always steered me away. It was a spur of the moment decision to try Pacos because I noticed the entrance had an open front and i parked myself and the dog at the one and only bar table along the sidewalk to give her a break and have lunch. Upon entering I had to look around and holler to the back kitchen area if the place was open yet. I seated myself and was brought a menu to look at. I clearly chose the beef and bean burrito. I also asked for guacamole since the burrito did not come with any. The waiter was pleasant and brought the dog and I  some water and complimentary nachos and salsa to my table. The nachos were good and the salsa was acceptable, it had some chunks of tomatoes. Less than 10 minutes and my burrito was brought over, a sad little burrito on a white plate. A very poor presentation if I ever saw one as there was nothing else on the plate to make it look appetizing. Here is where the fun begins. There was no meat in the burrito so i pointed this out to the waiter. He insisted to take it back and get it right since he put the order in correctly  and it said it on the ticket and it still came out wrong. He returns with a ground beef burrito. I asked him if that was a mistake because I ordered the beef and bean burrito from the menu not the ground beef burrIto from the menu. His response was  "They are both ground beef You know this is Tex Mex" I told him I didn't want to send the order back again for fear of retribution from the two Pacos clowning around in the back. My bill included $2 for a spoonful of guacamole in the burrito, it should have been on the side.

I wouldn't be surprised if this restaurant is a front for something else or just one guy's failed experiment.

  7. Went here for lunch last week. I thought it was just fine. Wasnt the best mexican food I've had but far the the worst. If you looking to grab some mexican during your lunch, I would recommend it.
Had the tacos, steak and chicken, and guac.
