Atmosphere: Nicely decorated inside. Can't say much on the waiting service, because I was attending a holiday event, but everything was clean, well put together, and the DJ played all of our requested songs.
Food: Pretty good! Seafood, steak, chicken, and some vegetarian options available, buffet style.
Drinks: Strong! Especially if you tipped the bartender 🙂
Overall: Would recommend for a private event. Balcony, food, and drinks right on the waterfront makes for a great night out.
Walked through in late December while most things are closed here. The grounds are well kept and look like they are just beautiful in summer time. Did not spend too much time here as it was cold and closed. But the views of the Statue of Liberty were nice.
Such a fun place to come and rest your tired feet after a long day of sight seeing! Free public bathrooms, great views, and so much to do and see. I usually don't stop at parks when I'm traveling, but this one was at just the right place at just the right time. There are CityBike hubs on either side of the park, so you can rent a bike from here and continue on.
The park is located right next to the Staten Island Ferry terminal, so catch than and get some amazing pictures of the Statue of Liberty.
Went to a crazy lavish wedding – very good time was had. The views were incredible (great balcony), service was very friendly and attentive, food was great, and it was overall fantastic. Downside was the place could use a little facelift, and the bathroom was gross. All in all, a more than solid spot!
Hot and tired from a morning of touring the Statue of Liberty in a scorching sun (as part of our NYC vacation), we found this place in Battery Park after getting off the tour boat. Originally we were going to have hot dogs off a cart but we were so exhausted that this place seemed like an oasis in the dessert. Though the prices were a bit steep the food was great! The portions were generous so we could have split our meals. I had a butternut squash risotto with peas and it was very tasty. My husband had a perfectly cooked burger. The view was fantastic as this place was overlooking NY harbor – the walls were glass so you could see out almost all the way around. I have to mention that the bathrooms were clean and beautiful – a pleasant surprise after getting off a boat and being packed in like cattle! A great and unexpected addition to Battery Park!
I came here for the first time with relatives visiting from out of state. I figured it was a good touristy place to take them with nice views of the Statue of Liberty and surrounding area. It was also Thanksgiving day, so we have the fixed price menu for $60.00 per person.
Unfortunately there was nothing vegetarian as the main course which is a bit irritating but not unexpected, at a place like this.
battery gardens is a little surreal as it doesn't seem like anywhere a real New Yorker would go- it's very touristy with a sort of middle of the road ambience and level of service to match.
The first thing I noticed was the butter served with our bread, had a very distinct freezer burnt taste to it; I knew it would be all downhill from there, and it kind of was … Rather mediocre but edible food; nothing tasted particularly fresh. I was also a bit vexed that our table wobbled half the meal until we begged a waiter to fix it.
Beautiful wedding venue with a perfect view of Hudson river and the Statue of Liberty. There were a variety of food options at the cocktail hour ranging from pita with hummus, fruits, and grilled vegetables; hot items such as ziti, chicken with penne and a variety of meat options. The dinner portions were large and the main entree had two options. I chose the red snapper and received a large portion of fish that coupled with dinner satisfied my food cravings. The fish was well seasoned as where the vegetables it was paired with. The venue had a large dance floor, an outdoor patio to taken the view, and fit their 150 guests with ease.
The only two issues that arose were the cocktail hour appetizers were not refilled fast enough and I didn't see an elevator for those with disabilities. Other than that it was a wonderful experience and a great place to celebrate my friend's big day.
Battery Gardens isn't the largest or most prestigious beer garden in the city, but for the location, the selection is pretty good and the space is a nice oasis from the hordes of tourists. The beer menu on tap is all Victory brews including some that are harder to find in stores. There are also many bottled beers available. There is a limited food menu as well. The space is mostly a bunch of tables in a cleared space, but the walls make you feel like you've escaped the huge crowds waiting for the ferries to the Statue of Liberty. Nice place to refresh yourself when by the Battery.
