Los Tacos-Mcondo

“They also have a great happy hour deal and I found the service to be very nice, attentive but not too in your face.”

“I came here for brunch for a good morning burrito with some chorizo (I believe that's what it was – some mystery meat haha) that was still tasty!”

“The highlight were the mini nachos-it's only 4 pieces of nachos with ricotta cheese on top but came with lots of toppings-guac, salsa, etc that we got to eat with our burritos as well.”

  1. Came here with my wife's cousin from France.  We had eaten "continental breakfast" ar home.  What that means is that when French people eat "breakfast" on weekends, they talk for two hours while managing only to consume one slice of toast with a tablespoon of blackcurrant preserves and a tiny cup of espresso.

I know rhey are very refined and all that- this dude named at least 25 kinds of RED wine- but at 3PM after eating only toast for breakfast, I was hungrier than Godzilla and ready for some major league gluttony.

The funniest part is that as we left the house my wife says "get him something to eat, he must be hungry".  LOL!!!

So anyway, I was thinking on the train, what cuisine must be so horrible in France that if we get even a mediocre meal in New York, he'll be talking about it for years like it was.a Michelin 3-star restaurant?

I decided finally that the suckiest food in all of Europe must be their Mexican food,.  Can you imagine eating tacos over there?  That would be featured on "Tastes Like A$$" on the Food Network.

So I Yelped the nearest Mexican restaurant and off we went.

He didn't know what ro order (no surprise there) so I ordered him a couple of steak tacos and got a cheese enchilada for myself, plus a couple of Negra Modelos.

The fpod was great, freshly made tortillas, tasty guac, and the food was really flavorful. I would definitely rate it Mexcellent.

You have to wait 10-15 minutes for your food as everything is made ro order.

The waitress was friendly and helpful, and probably the only native Brooklynite we saw all day in Disneyburg.

I knocked off a star because the music looped through the Mariachi veraion of "Another one Bites the Dust" three times.

I'll be back here to satisfy future Mexi-cravings.

  2. I was looking for a convenient place to meet my friend for dinner a few nights ago, and when we settled on wanting tacos, this place looked like a great idea — and it DID end up being a good idea. I got the shrimp taco and an alcoholic drink… I don't remember what the drink was! But it was so yummy I got two.

The bathrooms here are clean and there's a great feel about the place, plus the staff is extra accommodating without being overbearing. I'm going to come back for sure.

  3. Having spent 11 years between Texas and Southern California, I find myself getting quite the hankering for tacos sometimes. After reading the great reviews, I was really looking forward to checking out Los Tacos-Mcondo. We tried 4 tacos and unfortunately, I can only describe the tacos as okay. The fish taco was our favorite.

The margarita was pretty bad. After some back and forth, my boyfriend and I settled on that it was somewhat reminiscent of orange Gatorade.

The ambiance and service were both pleasant.

If the taco craving ever hits again, I might swing by out of convenience, but my search for great NYC tacos will continue.

    Cash only

  4. Friend was visiting from Asia and craving tacos, so we found this place. On a Monday evening it wasn't super crowded, which I actually thought was kind of nice, and the food was awesome.

My friend ordered a hot melted cheesy appetizer (forgot the name oops) tacos and I got a torta. My torta was loaded with meat and avocado, plus full of flavor. It was super filling and I only ate half of it (although this could be because I had a lot of the cheesy appetizer). I definitely want to go back and try the other things on the menu – wait staff was super nice and helpful as well!

  5. Great fish taco supper fresh and flavorful. As for the cemita sandwich holly cow it was good…… they do add heat to it which packs a punch. Very friendly staff and the dimmed eating area with candle can set the perfect mood for a date night.

  6. Very great food, attentive service. It was wonderful and tasty, and if I'm nearby, I'll stop by – but not "loveable enough to drive all the way from LI and visit" material.

  7. Good food good staff.  I came here for brunch for a good morning burrito with some chorizo (I believe that's what it was – some mystery meat haha) that was still tasty!  I loved that they kept giving you salsa and chips.  There were $3 mimosas and bellinis!! How awesome!  The 2nd time I came, I had 1 beef taco and 1 chicken taco – the beef was definitely better than the chicken for so many reasons – more flavorful and tender.  The guacamole is fresh and they're generous with it.  The bathrooms here are interesting with a black light… probably the last place you want a black light to be considering the mystery liquids, but interesting no matter.

The decor here is interesting and has its own flair – the chairs and tables are mismatched.

  8. CASH ONLY

Had some tacos here for dinner. They have like 6-8 to select from. I had the chicken, carne asada, and pork with pineapple. The chicken and pork were the best ones. I do like that each taco has guacamole on top.

Full bar and a few Mexican beers on tap. They have some happy hour specials as well, I think 4 to 8 or something.
