Nice addition to the neighborhood scene, but not necessary as there are plenty upscale, seasonal fwd spots. which… is how i felt about the entire dinner.
service was apathetic & very "we just opened and you all are banging down our doors for a reservation" kind of vibe. also, "you're not going to order multiple drinks?!"
fried fiddlehead ferns & snap pea sushi – cool in execution and in design, but one dimensional in flavor. snap pea had too much of the preserved lemon
chawanmushi was delicious but a little heavy on the truffle by the time you had the last bite.
we also ordered mains, but i completely have forgotten what they were.
Terrific, tremendous food. Warm, welcoming service. Affordable, approachable wines. Clean, cozy environment… All three of us loved everything we ate (five dishes) and everything we drank (two bottles) — it all comes across throughly-thought yet definitely not overwrought, never intimidating or imposing — and we cannot wait to return.
