  1. This place was okay. Nothing special. Drinks are pretty expensive but I guess it's city prices. The 'love from a stranger' drink is really good but it doesn't taste like they use much alcohol. I had 2 and didn't feel a thing. For appetizers we got the mozzarella/tomato plates. That was pretty good. They brought us out bread and butter but the bread was room temperature and the butter was COLD and hard. Main dish I ordered the chicken cutlet. That's all it was. One piece of chicken cutlet on a dish with some lettuce. Presentation wise, it looked crappy. Taste wise, it was OK. Service was ehhh. Our waiter wasn't really attentive and everything seemed rushed. The place wasn't even packed but it felt like they were trying to get us out of there ASAP. Nothing to brag about and I probably won't be back.

  2. First off – when one of the guys was bussing plates off the table, he knocked over our bottle of red wine onto the floor and splashed my friend all over his shirt. About a glass of wine wasted on the floor and my friend's shirt was ruined. No one came by to talk to us. Wasn't sure if we should've complained since we didn't want to make a scene, but people at other tables noticed the mess and asked if we were ok.

Second – my husband and I each had half a steak each left (a filet for me, and a strip for him), and we asked for it to be wrapped so that we could eat it the next day. They were thrown out.

For the prices we were paying, the service was definitely not what we were expecting. They did bring us 2 desserts to make up for them throwing out our leftover steaks (and glasses of "champagne" which was unpalatable because it was insanely sweet), but it left a pretty bad taste in my mouth.

Food is good (the best salad was amazing), but our experience was mostly "eh" with a side of "you've gotta be kidding me".

  3. Oh, Revel.  What a place!  Had I known what I was walking into, I would have scheduled an appointment with a plastic surgeon prior.

We had a 3pm reservation for 6 ladies.  We weren't seated till 3:20.  We paid for the unlimited drink package for $45 each plus the cost of our entree.  At first the place seemed nice.  We were seated in the outside area where a dj was playing.  At about 4 all this changed.  The place became packed with man buns and girls that visited the plastic surgeon one too many times.  At 5 they said our open drink package was over.  Seriously?  They cut us off early from their watered down sangria.  It was their fault we sat late.  The waitresses were very cold and only seemed to value collecting their tip.  I ordered a burger.  It actually tasted salty, which wasn't a good thing.  Was the salt added since the meat was old? The fries were the best part of the experience.  We ordered a cake for the bachelorette that cost about $70.  It was too chocolatey.

Don't forget they add the tip on to anything and everything.  Do go here if you have a strong bladder (only one stall) and like people watching as you get elbowed.

  4. We have been to this place a few times over the years and his other restaurant, Barolo in SOHO that has since closed. I think there are some tax problems. The food is OK but nothing really special. We had brunch last month, because we were hungry and we were right in front of the place. They have a decent pitcher of booze with brunch deal for about $25.00, as I remember. There is very loud music playing. We sat at the bar where it wasn't so loud.

  5. Avoid if you're in the neighborhood. Came for a large birthday party 20 and barely received any attention. A few of us ordered steak and asked for medium rare to medium and it all came well done. Friend fries were cold. They were hungry and begrudgingly ate the food. expected more from them.

  6. I am reviewing this spot mostly for their brunch. I've been here for cocktails and that was lovely – 5 stars, easy. Their brunch is slightly more complex but it's ultimately what you make of it.

Despite that this is the hottest neighborhood in NYC and a really cool brunch party, it's surprisingly chill and not too pretentious. Our male server was nice and accommodating. Our female server and bartender were a little more aloof but they still refilled our drink pitchers.

I wish this place was different in a few ways:

It is totally unacceptable to have a 20 minute wait for the restroom because the ladies' restroom is 1 stall.

The food was good not great – but the scene TOTALLY makes up for it! You're not going for the food, your going for the dranks.

I wish the pitchers of drinks were stronger/had more champagne.

Other than that, it was pretty cool!  This spot has great music, ambiance and scene. I enjoyed it and can see myself returning.

  7. Came here for brunch to celebrate my best friend finishing her boards for med school. Loved the ambiance, without a doubt. The waitress was very nice as well. She even made me a delicious virgin and vegan Bloody Mary. However, they were extremely eager for us to leave. We knew the time limit for bottomless brunch and adhered to it, but we wanted to sit at the bar and order more drinks but not one bartender would serve us, and even put fake "reserved" signs to deter us from sitting. I thought that was incredibly rude. I was completely sober so I can honestly say none of us were being loud or a nuisance — we simply wanted to spend more time there because we were having such a good time and hadn't spent time with each other in a while. I understand their table space was limited and in demand but they had space at the bar and we weren't in anyone's way. Anyway, many people on the staff (aside from our waitress) were incredibly rude to us after our bottomless brunch was over and I probably would've wanted to go back there based on that experience alone — but I probably won't anymore because of what happened after.

  8. So I've heard of this place but never went in. I couldn't understand why there were so little people at the bar! As time wore on I gradually understood. Drinks are pretty overpriced- $11 shots, and they tacked on $2 extra for Jameson's. The music was tacky, way too loud, and unrefreshing. The people in there were club hoppers wondering why they were there, it's a good place to meet up with people before heading to a different spot.
