This is tex-mex place run by Chinese people (as are most Queens tex-mex place). It's one of those if you know what you want, you're set type of establishment.
The special combinations are good. Decent amount of meat and a LOT of rice. I recommend their super nachos and enchiladas. Their food always seems fresh. They are quick with your order. Not much more to be said. Solid tex-mex place.
It was my first time trying this place out since I live in the neighborhood. A bit skeptical, because it is run by asians, but the food is good. I ordered mexican rice with steak and the boyfriend ordered jack cheese with chicken and steak quesadilla on whole wheat flour, and tex mex chili tostada salad. He absolutely loved the food. What's nice is that the tostada salad came in a cardboard squared box. Would definitely order from here again. And, delivery was fast!
I don't know why anyone would call what I just ate "nachos", but it's Taco Kings version of nachos.
What this mess of stuff seemed to be was….stale tortilla chips, hardly warm beans of some sort, not so warm blackened chicken, diced tomatoes and some microwave melted cheese and the price was $5.98. You also get this little half a shot glass full of salsa. Trust me I dumped that stuff right on this stuff to give it some flavor.
The tortilla chips were suppose to be freshly made….if those are freshly made tortilla chips then I am little Bo Peep with a flock of sheep. The chicken was blackened, hardly warm and tough. Beans, right from a can. Cheese, not even sure it was cheese, it was orange colored and melted, no flavor. Chopped tomatoes, maybe a heaping tablespoon full.
This is a neighborhood place that has pretty good reviews, I have no clue why the reviews are good. Must be a lot of low standards. This neighbor will not be trying this place ever again.
Chicken itself is fantastic..and it's a shame that flavor can't spread to everything else in my taco/burrito/whatever it is. The price per item isn't expensive but for the amount you get and the quality of the food, it's not worth it.
I had previously given this place 3 stars, but I'm upgrading it to 4 stars, because I've ordered from here a lot recently, and their food is consistently good.
