  1. The ambiance was much better than the food. It seemed like everything was lightly salted or the recipe was just weak.

Great looking dishes not so memorable once it hits the palate.

New England chowder should have been a sign of things to come when it lacked taste. It was too white to have any taste.

Sauvignon blanc was good and so was the lava cake desert.

Not sure I'll be back. My date made it a great time as always.

  2. Great service.

The $1 oyster special on Thursday is great. Although, when i tried them, they seemed a tad on the salty end. Like they were brined in Salt Water to retain the freshness of the oysters. These were probably the saltiest oysters that I have ever tasted. They were yummy, just needed to drink a lot of water afterwards.

The fish entrees are cooked to perfection. If my memory serves me right, we ordered the awesome Parmesan Encrusted Cod and the Saffron Seafood Risotto. Both were amazing.

I forget what dessert we ordered, but the Irish and Mexican coffees are also very very yummy.

It's just a shame that they only take reservation for large groups. The restaurant is somewhat small, but you can sit at the bar and grab a drink or even eat there if you're dining solo. The servers do refill your water, and do help with the wine recommendations. I really do like the service here; they are nothing but smiles.

  3. I hear what everyone's saying limited parking (feed the meters until 7pm), does not take reservations for less than 5 people (holidays excluded) and older crowd. But what makes up for it is a great wine/beer list, sweet oysters, fresh seafood, delicious desserts and impeccable service. If that's not enough their specials are such a great value.

Specials: Mon-Wed 5pm-6:30pm prix fixe menu (app, entree, dessert) $29.95
Monday special 1.5lb lobster, cole slaw and a baked potato $26.95
Thursday raw bar special: $1 clams, $1.25 oysters, $1.50 shrimp cocktail

It's about 30min from me in NJ with toll but I won't hesitate to go if an occasion calls for seafood.

  4. This really is an excellent seafood restaurant. The menu, service and ambiance are all 1st Class. Went there for my birthday on Thursday night and had a superb meal. The Dover Sole wasn't on the menu that night, but they "caught" one for me! Thank you E.F.G..

  5. Walking inside this elegant, fine-dining restaurant always makes me feel like they've been waiting for us to show up. Service is terrific and so is the food.

The room is lovely, several notches above what we normally find in this part of Westchester. While the prices aren't cheap, between the setting, service and menu, we always feel like we're getting good value.

We usually go on weekends — early because Eastchester can get very busy. These folks don't take reservations for parties smaller than five so if you don't want to wait on line, get there by 6 p.m. By then, there's often already a senior citizen crowd. But it's still a relatively easy time of the evening to get both street parking right outside and, more importantly, a booth for two.

If you're a small party, the booths against the wall are in high demand. The other alternative is the long row of too-close-together freestanding tables. I don't like them: you have zero conversational privacy. When we were there two nights ago, we couldn't ignore the gray-haired lady next to us who kept complaining about everything, including her "lousy table."

But once you have a good seat, relax. Try the raw bar; it's always very fresh. The bread basket, with is warm corn bread and rolls, is hard to resist. I've never had the salad or desserts because I'm always stuffed after the entree.

The trout with spaghetti veggies and watercress sauce ($22) is my favorite entree. But the other night, I had a whole, grilled sea bass ($24) that came with grilled vegetables and ate every bite of it. My bf had the whole grilled branzino ($28) and it was also spectacular.
