  1. Situated inside the Pennsy you'll find the lobster press. A concept put together by iron chef and american cut chef marc forgione. Not your typical lobster roll but it's a pressed lobster roll served with a side of lobster au jus sauce. Make sure you dip your sandwich in it as it really brings out the complete package for the sandwich. The au jus is both spicey and full of flavor while the lobster in the sandwich is sweet, tender, and full of ocean flavor. Normally at other lobster shacks i found that the lobster can be chewy and over cooked but here it was cooked perfectly and in the crunchy pressed bread it held up well. Speaking with Marc Forgione a super nice guy he said they researched and spent some time finding a lobster purveyor to provide their lobster year round and it shows by the quality of ingredients. Great service and a wonderful sandwich.

  2. It was alright. For the price and the food, it was just OK. I would probably try the other stores at The Pennsy during my next visit. I ordered half of the lobster sandwich with the dip. It was good but not mind blowing and I felt it just felt good cause how bad could a panini which consists of bread and cheese and a few pieces of lobster be?

  3. The flagship sandwich is very good. It certainly overcame my fears about fusion lobster. It isn't wall-to-wall lobster but celery and other strategic vegetables work well. The dip is quite original.

I'll be "that guy" and complain about the prices. I thought $21 was high for the Press Box, which includes pickled vegetables.

  4. I enjoyed the grilled cheese sandwich quite a bit… bread was crisp but also soft and I liked the cheese shavings on top.  If we didn't try this, I would give the place two stars bc the lobster press was lackluster.  Not much lobster in there and the lobster that was there seemed too chewy.  Also, the bread was oily and really too hard.  Lastly, the lobster bisque had a water consistency, not quite a bisque.

  5. The lobster press (of which their named) is two thinly pressed pieces of bread with a lobster mix in the middle, all smushed together using heat. It's pretty tasty, but for the standard lobster price tag of $20, I expected more lobster.

You can add cheese for $1, which I thought might complicate the delicate flavor of lobster, so I passed on that. It did, however, come with a dipping sauce that changed my life. It was salty, spicy, and incredibly flavorful. It was so good that I might return just for a grilled cheese and the sauce.

Service was quick (about 6 minutes for the sandwich) but, in my opinion, not totally worth the price. The sauce, though…..yum.

Another benefit is this location is in the Pennsy, so you can sit outside, grab a beer, people watch, and enjoy your meal.

  6. – the price of the lobster sandwiches varies depending on the market price of lobster for the day
    – I came on a particularly expensive day ($25) to try the famous lobster press sandwich
    – the sandwich/experience was completely underwhelming, even if you ignore the outrageous price tag
    – probably around 1-2oz of lobster meat in total (for perspective, $25 can get you a 2+ lb live lobster in chinatown)
    – I ordered it without cheese because I wanted as much of the lobster flavor as possible and felt the cheese would just be a distraction instead of a compliment
    – the flavor of the lobster was completely overwhelmed by the spices and dipping sauce, had I eaten it with my eyes closed, I wouldn't have been able to tell there was anything other than bread
    – the lemonade is more on the tart side (which I prefer) but was ruined with berry/basil syrup
    – they recommend you compliment the press with "the grasshopper," a green cold pressed bottle of juice (apple, pineapple, wheatgrass and mint), speaking from personal experience, save yourself the $4
    – though I won't be back to try their newly released lobster roll (because they make it with ranch!!! blasphemy!!) I might revisit in the winter to try a bowl of their lobster bisque

  7. The lobster press in the pennsy is different compared to the other vendors. I ordered the lobster bisque. The flavor was great, but it was too watery for my liking. When I think bisque, I want it to be a little bit thicker.

  8. ***Delivery Review***

Found them on Uber Eats and I am so thankful! I had their sandwich on a Wednesday and loved it so much I ordered it again on a Friday.  So what is a Lobster Press?  Imagine a Lobster Roll but in a press sandwich instead and then it come with this awesome dipping sauce has this slight kick.  The lobster meat is perfect and juicy and makes your realize why the sandwich cost $20.  I would recommend adding cheese to the press if you want the full experience.

Good job of putting your product on Uber Eats Lobster Press, because now I will be visiting your actual location.
