Extremely overpriced for a very mediocre breakfast buffet.
Went here for a rehearsal dinner for my wedding. The service was some of the best I've received in a long time. The waiters all knew proper etiquette and executed it well. The food was good as well. I had the petit filet which was cooked perfectly and had a pretty good taste to it. It's not Peter Lugers but it's a excellent choice if your in the area. Far above most hotel restaurants. I will definitely be going back…
This review really should be 3.5 Stars as I do really like the Strip House but there are some things that can be improved upon. I have had dinner there a few times and it has always been quite good and for the cost, it damn well should be. The place is not cheap. As I have gotten older, the allure of going somewhere and chowing down mass quantities has lost a lot of its luster and I now prefer drinks and appetizers. There is also a degree of nostalgia because my gf and I had our first date here. For me, The Strip House has become one of my usual haunts. I love the lounge area because I greatly prefer comfy couches over high tables, bar stools or booths. The drinks are good and the apps are excellent. Recently, we ordered the Gorgonzola garlic bread and bacon appetizer, both awesome.
But where they drop the ball is service. There is nothing wrong with it, per se but when the place is crowded, the bartender gets overwhelmed. Since there is no service bar, she is left to handle table drinks, lounge drinks and bar drinks. Great for her income but not for those attempting to patiently wait. Don't get me wrong, she is polite, efficient and overall awesome in just about every way but when it's crowded, she needs help. At the very least, there should be someone taking drink orders in the lounge. Perhaps there is but not when we've been there.
Anyway, we will continue to go there and enjoy it but when the weather turns nice again, we will probably hit McLoone's because of their outdoor space. Easier to get a drink there, too.
Just as good as its sisters spots in the city. Apps are good (start with the oysters). The bone in ribeye is as good as a steak lover imagines. And the side orders of black truffle cream spinach onion strings are the perfect complement to the meal.
I was pleasantly surprised with the meal at Strip House. We had an event there, where 4 tables were reserved and there was a prefixed menu. It was a 3 course meal, including dessert. This was based on the menu we had set up. My family hosted a dinner for the guests who were staying at the Westminster Hotel the night before the wedding. The chef was extremely willing to accommodate my dietary restrictions, which you don't always find. They served individual appetizers, and entrees. The sides and dessert was served family style. I had the seared tune entree. WOW. I have never had seared Tuna as well prepared as I did at Strip house. They crusted the outside of the tuna and the inside kept it's moisture. Sometimes seared tuna can be very dry when cooked. Not at all the case here. My fiance got the petite fillet and it was DELICIOUS. I am a very picky steak eater, but I would return for that piece of meat. Seasoned well but not over bearing and not lost in some a ju sauce. It was perfectly charred on the outside and buttery on the inside. The dessert was a HUGE piece of their chocolate cake. Even I, the bride, couldn't resist having a bite even the night before my wedding!!! It was very rich, but very moist and delicious!
The ambiance is very romantic.
The service deserves 5 stars. My family is very hard to impress when it comes to service, but the waiters were EXTREMELY attentive. I always had enough water, they continuously checked on us to make sure everything was just right, but not overbearingly. The food was great, but the service impeccable.
I came here back in October for a business dinner and it's definitely a nice place overall, but I'm not sure I'd come here for a regular dinner. The service was overall very good and the waitstaff were very attentive. The food was tasty and the filet mignon was cooked fairly well (it was a bit bland, but the sauce it was paired with helped to offset that). The chocolate cake for dessert was very good and it was a good meal overall. The reason I doubt I would come back here is the seriously high prices. The good, but not great, food doesn't justify the very high prices.
Great dinner spot – I was a little skeptical as it is in a hotel, but it was a great experience. I am giving them a 4 because of the lack of half the wines on the cab list (and I am talking about the high end stuff).
Salad was beets with blue cheese and it did not work at all. I misread it as I thought it was goat cheese but as it turned out it was just the dressing….which I did not understand. The waiter was accommodating and swopped the salad for the salad of the day which was significantly better. The steak was a shared porterhouse which was cooked to perfection. Medium rare and carved table side. Nice place eith good service – will go back.
This is only for the bar area.
Stopped in for drinks after hitting the Highlawn. The décor is nice; dark paneling, deep reds, comfortable chairs. The bartender was rather disengaged and not very attentive. Did not even come back once to refill my water glass. Also, a big bartending no-no, she kept scooping ice from the well using the serving glasses which leads to chipped barware and worse. Use the scoop.
