Terrible- I would prefer Taco Bell over this crap.
It probably would have been in my best interest to order delivery from Yummy Taco and not actually go to the location. I was on a stroll around town and decided to go to Yummy Taco after making jokes about the pandering name of the restaurant. I was put off by how dirty the front of the place was, despite the A health code rating. I grabbed a menu and ordered the Chicken burrito and a shrimp taco. The burrito was very good, and quite large for how inexpensive it was. It was simple, good food. Nothing to write home about, but I look forward to ordering this late night on a weekend.
The shrimp taco was eh. I didn't expect much from seafood at a place like this, and got pretty much what I expected. Definitely not very fresh shrimp, it tasted fishy, when shrimp obviously shouldn't.
Nevertheless I grabbed a takeout menu on the way out, and will remember Yummy Taco when I want some good cheap Mexican food.
I love Yummy Taco. It's no-frill Mexican food that's both authentic, inexpensive, and incredibly quick for delivery. Don't be fooled by its cheapness, it in no way is indicative of portion. The portions are huge. The quesadillas are the only menu item that are appropriately sized for one – with fresh flour tortillas to boot! The only reason that I ever spend $10+ here is to make its ordering minimum, otherwise my Yummy Taco orders would barely cost $5, and would still span at least two meals.
Not a huge fan of their salsa, but their guac is delicious, and likely the cheapest I've ever had.
3.5 stars for being super cheap and efficient delivery via Seamless with huge portions!
I don't know how they make their quesadillas so good, but I can't replicate them when I use the exact same ingredients. If you love tex-mex quantity over quality, this place is your go to for delivery.
Judging from the outside you wouldn't look twice at this place, but it'll surprise you. We all like surprises.
When it comes to cheap, easy, no-fuss "Mexican" food–you can't beat Yummy Taco. I have absolutely no idea where in Astoria they're located bc I've only ever ordered delivery (from GrubHub). They're fast, y'all. I usually have my order within 15 minutes of hitting "submit" on GrubHub.
If you want "authentic" fancy food, look elsewhere. This is stick-to-your bones, taste good good that is especially good after a night of drinking. My favorites include the nachos (not as good a Viva El Marichi's on Bdway, though), black bean tacos, chili tacos and al carbon tacos.
If you love rice, you're good here, bc almost everything here has at least one pound of rice in it. The burritos–decent–but they have one pound of rice inside. The enchiladas–meh, kinda dry–sit atop one pound of rice.
Quick, cheap, good food.
Ordered the Grilled Steak with Tex-Mex chili from their special. The portion of meat was tiny. Way too much rice and salad (compared to the meat). Wasn't a fan of the chili.
On the other hand, their prices are like a dollar cheaper than other similar restaurants. Service was also pretty good.
Good taco place. They press the tortillas to order and they are quick. The food is delicious, I've always had the soft tacos and never had any complaints. The nachos are awesome and I had their special combo for $5.95 for the first time last night and was pleasantly surprised. Not a very authentic place, but when you crave tacos or need food quickly in a pinch it is a great option. I feel much better and healthier eating here than at a fast food place…
