Went to dinner with the Mrs. on Friday night and another couple.
We started off ordering a bottle of wine and our friend recommended ordering the hot antipasto platter with mozzarella en carozza. It had to be the largest appetizer that I have seen in my life. That could have just been our dinner.
For dinner, my wife ordered Chicken Torre, I had the Veal Pizzaiola. Again, the portions were huge. We had a lot for the doggie bag, and didn't even have room for dessert and coffee. (That is very very rare)
My friend says the pizza is just meh. Though he is also from Staten Island and has the same predisposition to my favorites, Lee's Tavern and Denino's.
The service was very attentive and friendly. Would definitely go back.
FYI, there is a parking lot around the corner. It is a pay lot until 7 pm.
I like this place when I sit in to eat – delivery takes a bit. Friendly staff and fresh food.
San Vito is a Bayonne staple. Good food, good portions, and very tasty. You are generally treated very well at San Vito, but if they are busy and using the upstairs, it might take awhile to get served.
Their dinners and specials are good. The sauces are fresh. I enjoy their calamari, their mussels, and all of their pasta dishes. They do a great job on their chicken and veal dishes as well. I'd probably visit more but parking in that area is miserable.
