  1. Despite the fact I've never written a review of this dim sum restaurant, I've been going here regularly for over a decade! (Longer than I've been on yelp! Longer than yelp has existed?)

    So obviously, I think they're pretty damn good. Service is brusque (although we now recognize one of our regular waitresses who is a total sweetheart!) but there's plenty of variety in the dishes. I particularly love the gau choi gau– pan-fried chinese chive dumplings with crunchy bits of water chestnuts and shrimp. Also, their pineapple buns are amazing, especially when warm! Buttery on the inside, sweet on the outside. We also regularly get the cheung fun with shrimp which are usually fresh and large. Oh and I love their bamboo shoot rolls covered in tofu skin. Super good.

    Anyway, you can't really go wrong. And currently, all their normal size dim sum dishes are $2.25 each? So cheap. So tasty.

  2. Forever coming here for dim sum… Bc it's the grandparents favorite place to be. This means we are also always here for dinner… I even had my wedding banquet here!n

    I don't have any complaints… My wedding banquet food was very good. The food came out at a steady pace and we were not rushed to leave when the wedding was almost over. They were very accommodating and even threw in a complimentary cake for me. The wait staff are very friendly once they become familiar with you.

    Will continue to come here … Even when I'm a old grandma.

  3. My spot for dim sum.  Very good and cheap compared to other restaurants.  We had a party of 10 and it was under $100 with tip.  I can't believe my eyes when i saw the bill i was expecting close to 150.  

    In Flushing, there different dim sum restaurants ranging from expensive and good or cheap and disgusting (East Restaurant). Then there are a few that are good and cheap and Dong Yi Feng and maybe Jade on their weekday specials.  I have been going here when I can but parking is a little hard compared to the other restaurants.  I would avoid new world mall they are expensive and average.

  4. Your typical chinese banquet restaurant. They don't have a parking lot so it's not the easiest to get to in Flushing. I had a deep fried crab leg dish that was memorable, along with a bunch of other seafood dishes that were decent. I would only come here if someone really pushes for it, other than that Flushing has many more good eats to try.

  5. Sat down for 10 minutes and barely anything in the dim sum carts. Ordered chicken feet and Niú bai yeh and that was it because everything else was either unavailable or everything looked like it was from the day before. My mother ordered pig skin soup from the soup cart and as the server was doing it, she scooped up barely any pig skin and gave my mother nothing but chunks of turnip. My mother told her she didn't want it and the lady threw a fit because the health department is inspecting their kitchen and was unable to push food out. It's not their fault but come on, couldn't they be a little more prepared than this? The restaurant was nearly full and almost everyone's table was empty. Many complained and walked out as we did too. Perhaps I could blame the inspector from the health department for this experience but on the other hand, maybe the kitchen was just that filthy and the inspector might of had good reason to not allow any food go out.

    Verdict – I did hear good things about this dim sum but that remains to be seen. I'll stick them with a 2-star for now and give them another shot next time. I heard their portions were slightly more than Asian Jewels Seafood Restaurant and their pig skin soup was more traditional. Asian Jewels use to make it that way but lately, they've been doing a curry based pig skin soup rather than the traditional cantonese style version.

  6. A good kitchen indeed. I've been going to Good Kitchen for almost ten years now (from when I was a child with my family to with my friends right now trying to have a great time), I am never disappointed when I come here.

    When you think about Flushing you normally don't see a lot of Cantonese people/culture/food around so having this place available is a real treat. They serve Dim Sum in the morning (which ends around 2pm) and Cantonese cuisine in during the afternoon – dinner. The dim sum here is the bomb, everything from shrimp dumplings , to praised spare ribs, spring rolls, roast pork buns, they have it all. All of their dim sum comes out piping hot on carts that servers push around asking if you want what they have.

    The dishes here are pretty pricey, delicious….but pricey. I always start off with their sliced meat and jellyfish as my appetizer. Here are the dishes that I would recommend:

    – Peking Duck: Crispy on the outside, succulent on the inside.
    – Prawns with Mayonnaise Sauce and Fried Crispy Milk: I could eat this forever
    – Lobster Ginger and Scallions
    – Peking Pork Chop with Fried Crispy Milk
    – Saute Chinese Greens
    – Filet Steak with Black Pepper Sauce on Sizzling Platter: The filet steak is so tender and goes very well with the pepper sauce.

    I wouldn't come here ALL of the time because of the price, but it's definitely the place to bring your family to have a great, quality meal. I approve!

  7. One of the big cantonese restaurants in Flushing but not the best food. I have given this place a chance time and time again but the quality and the flavors remain "ehh"  over the years, I guess you can they are consistent. The staff is friendly, but not enough to keep me coming back. You can also tell the inside has been worn and carpets are dirty. If you do somehow end up here, order the battered salt and pepper crab, big chunks of crab and delicious crunchy fried batter.

  8. Good kitchen, dudes who cook in it… really good kitchen.  Good food too, dim sum here… really good.  I recently took a couple guests from out of town to Flushing, and dim sum consumption was the mission.  Needless to say, mission was accomplished.

    Prior to our collective dim sum excursion, I had consulted with a few trusted Yelp compadres (the sadly now-defunct and bygone Ministry of AZN Affairs) as to what a viable dim sum location would be.  I've visited Asian Jewels a number of times, and that seems to be Exhibit A for those non-Flushing locals who sing of the superiority of Flushing dim sum over that of Manhattan.  However, the credibility of non-locals is always suspect in this particular Yelper's mind, thereby resulting in my inquisition as to other dim sum noshing joints.

    Dong Yi Feng came up more than once and warranted the try.  A late 1:00 pm arrival time (myself and my guests had a very long night prior to dim sum adventure that day) at a more obscure dim sum joint seemed to help us immensely in securing seating almost immediately; it was either that or the fact that we met up with a native speaker who seemed to buddy it up with the staff just minutes to me and my guest's arrival.  Either way, it was the fastest I have ever been seated at a dim sum place on a Sunday.

    Old standbys were served and consumed.  Such standards included: chicken feet (so effing good), shrimp rolls, shrimp balls, shrimp dumplings, char sui buns, beef tendon, egg tarts (a bit more buttery than I'm used to, but good),siu mai, fried dumplings,spring rolls, tripe… et cetera… et cetera.  Everything was tasty, prompting my (Asian) friend, and quite a vocal critic when it comes to what he thinks tastes good/bad, to exclaim that this was some of the best dim sum he's ever had.  Quite high praise I must say.

    Service was also admirably attentive.  It's usually a chore to try to get water at these spots, with myself typically having to settle on washing down all my food with hot tea.  Not this time though… perhaps it was the efforts of my native speaking friend that we had met up with… or perhaps Dong Yi Feng just has a more attentive wait staff than most dim sum joints.  Either way, I was able to eat my food with water and get refills on said water; a much more pleasant feeling than pouring scalding hot tea down the gullet.

    The joint is definitely worth a second visit from me, especially after getting the check. $17 for five grown @ss adults to stuff themselves??  Unheard of at most places… but not here.  Until next time, keep being a good kitchen dude.
