  1. My new favorite place! Great tea and coffee selections and they always give great recommendations. I love dropping in after classes at JC Barre. They have a ton of great vegan treats as well. And they deliver! Check them out on Instagram as they always post their latest vegan cakes- which are amazing!

  2. Love that they deliver. Ordered via Seamless.

Great drinks – they have tea, coffee, bubble tea, cider, smoothies, shakes. I tried the ginger hot cider – yum, really hit the spot and a delicious smoothie (berry). You can get smoothies/shakes with soy or almond milk, btw.

The food was OK. Had the salmon salad – nothing special, salmon was pretty bland and the salad was rather small. Also tried the vegan hot dog – pretty good – a bit too spicy for me but that's a personal preference. It came on good bread so if it wasn't for the spice, I'd be all about it.

I like that they have a diverse menu with vegan/vegetarian offerings. Definitely the spot for drinks, not sold on the food yet – might need to give it another chance.

  3. I love this place
I've only been here a couple of times but they were great experiences. The girl who works here is so friendly and sweet. She seem so genuinely happy when her customers are enjoying their time. I think that says a lot about a business.

They also have a great selection of teas, and other drinks. I love that they have bubble tea that you can customize with your preference of milk (almond, whole, coconut, etc), and sugar level. They also have a great selection of vegan options. I'm not a vegan but the black bean burgers look really tasty. Will be coming back to try it.

Also, i happen to love doing my laundry at JC eco laundromat around the corner so this is a great addition to my sunday routine.

  4. Such a great little spot! It's places like this that make me realize that I need to venture further up Newark Ave. Especially once it's a bit warmer out.

I passed by on the way home from a meeting and came in for a mid-day treat. Although I was craving tea, there are a ton of other drink options like coffee, smoothies and juices. They've also got a pretty extensive food menu with a variety of soups, salads and sandwiches and lots of veggie and vegan options. At lunch time on a weekday there were plenty of people sitting at the cafe tables and ordering food.

I ordered a thai iced tea and it was refreshing and delicious. All teas come in one size of 16 ounces and are reasonably priced at 3.50. Next time I come in I definitely want to try a dirty chai. Because of the great prices and cozy neighborhood vibe, I'm going to have to make more of an effort to come here instead of just resorting to Starbucks.

  5. Love small balls bursting in your mouth? Oh stop, get your head out of the gutter, I'm talking about Tapioca! FREE tapioca included with any drink. These drinks are great for summer days or just to try something new. They are very refreshing and addicting. I like the Matcha Bubble Tea (green tea) so far, but there are plenty of flavors to satisfy everyone's taste buds.

Their sandwiches are delicious and just the right portion. It's also a good vegan brunch option too.

Positive friendly and welcoming vibes. Looking forward to going back soon!!!

  6. For a cafe vibe this place isn't that bad. I've been heard for a coffee/tea break and lunch, both were reasonably enjoyable.

Per recommendation, I tried the vanilla camomille tea and it was heaven! I also tried a black tea which was good. Food-wise, they have sandwiches that consist of variations of hot dogs that can be vegan, vegetarian or good ole beef. Its a bit strange that besides the hot dog-inspired sandwiches, they have salads and some homemade cakes and other desserts… but that's it. Let's face it, their main focus and craft is tea.

Prices are reasonable and there's plenty of seating. The staff is very friendly and willing to give suggestions. This small joint previews works from local artists which adds to its charm. Nearby is Balance Salon, Modern Sage, and Metro PCS among other things.

  7. Tea NJ never fails to disappoint. Have ordered take out/delivery from here numerous times and the V Loaf and Black Bean sandwiches are my go-tos. They have undoubtedly the largest tea selection in all of JC as well, I'm sure, and the staff will be more than happy to give you suggestions to match with whatever you're eating. I've grown partial to their dirty chai and dirty matcha, personally.

  8. If Mary Poppins ran Cheers, it would be Tea NJ. It seemed like everyone here knew everyone's name. The gentleman at the counter was so warm, I felt in no time flat I, too, could become part of the inner circle.

The vibe is low key cafe with character. I was digging the high tempo punk rock tunes and lightning fast complimentary wifi.

The grapefruit green tea blend served iced was light and refreshing on a hot afternoon. The salmon over spinach with feta and tomatoes with 3 tasty dressings on the side was a delicious early dinner and a steal at 7 measly bucks. For a quick bite or a  refreshment and respite from your busy day, Tea NJ is practically perfect in every way.
