  1. I came here for lunch in a hot summer weekday. I saw that on yelp someone mentioned that there's no AC. Undeterred, I foolishly ordered the beef soup and a pork tacos. I was a sweaty mess but very satisfied with my authentic meal. My co-workers thought I ran a marathon when I returned from lunch,

The soup was very rustic, not enough fat oil was skimmed from the pot. I like that they gave me chopped onions, cilantro, and lime to garnish the soup.

The tacos was good. But, I drowned out the taste with green salsa. I can drink that if I could.

The lady who runs the show knows English well.

The Horhata is very sweet and pre-made in the fridge.

Cash only I think. Unsure if they have bathroom for customers. The area is kinda shady even next to police station. But, I'm used to dark neighborhoods living in Paterson.

  2. February 8, 2016 Update: I've been here multiple times already and I see no reason why I should not give them five stars. The food is consistently delicious and the people here are super friendly. I've never been disappointed with the food. This is literally the only place I go to for Mexican food in Jersey…

Mexican food craving fulfilled! The food here has its differences from what I used to eat in California, but that is expected. Keep in mind that this place is pretty small; there are five tables inside.

Carne Asada Burrito ($8.50): Pretty big burrito stuffed with plenty of rice, cheese, some beans, and a good serving of carne asada. The carne was seasoned well. Although I wish they added pico de gallo, the salsa verde the burritos and tacos come with adds a nice subtle kick.

Al Pastor Burrito ($8.65): They actually do not sell al pastor burritos, but the cooks happily took our request and made it for us! The al pastor was tender and flavorful. Like the other burrito, there is no cilantro or pico, but this is pretty close to what I am used to eating back home. The ratio of meat to rice is pretty good–there isn't too much of one thing.

Al Pastor Tacos ($8.65): Compared to the burritos, I think I like the tacos more. The corn tortillas are homemade–soft, fluffy, and cooked perfectly. You can taste the al pastor more, since there is only cilantro and onion topping it (the way it should be). I would've liked a side of lime or some picked radishes, but I'm happy either way.

Chicken Tamales: I wish they had beef, but I still enjoyed these. The masa itself is flavorful because of the shredded chicken. Do note that the chicken is packed mainly in the middle of the tamale. It's not spicy, but if you want it a little kick, definitely add plenty of salsa verde!

  3. Today is Super Tuesday!
Perhaps it was a bad Tuesday for Tacos.  Could it be because I was eating and watching Clinton win Florida and Trump too- All at the same time ?? Perhaps!!! In any case, Antojitos left me with a small dissatisfaction. Here is why.

The al pastor tacos were salty, not spicy and did not have chunks of pineapple. The presentation was falling short of impressive. Same story for the carne tacos. After a short break, I started to poke into the enchilada mole. The fresh queso blanco laid nicely on the enchilada. The black beans and rice tasted just fine, however, refried beans was expected. I bet it would've taste better too. The mole sauce was red in color but not spicy in taste. In fact, I found it to be fairly sweet. Obviously, it was not Mole Poblano style. It was just Mole Rojo. There were four enchiladas and after finishing one, the urge or desire to eat another was simply not there. What I must say, the ingredients were fresh. Chicken, pork, carne, rice, onions, etc. That's a plus in my book.

I can't speak about the service since it was a pick up order. Parking is available on the side of the building. The location is not an ideal place for a young woman like myself but I know KARATE!!!! just kidding. Just be careful.
They are open 7 days a week and have daily specials. Spanish is the primary language here so I recommend knowing your basics when dining here. Have fun.
