  1. I've been to a lot of straight up legit tapas spots in my life. This place isn't one of them.  I always find that if you take an average place and create a brunch spot with liquor, with a bottomless mimosa/bloody mary situation you will have some inordinate number of New Yorkers 4 star yelp a joint.  I guess if you live in the area and this is your go to brunch spot/place to get hammered on a lazy Sunday afternoon then knock yourself out.  But generally speaking you do not want to be visiting uptown to get tapas, especially from this spot.

  2. Excellent weekend brunch paella offer with 4 tapas as starters, paella, unlimited drinks and dessert!
We are from Barcelona so we do know how Spanish food taste. That is why I give 4 stars although everything wasn't perfect.
Of course in Barcelona you could find better food, but to be honest, their standard is pretty high to be in NYC
Paella was very well cooked (a little bit salty, but rice was excellent), it is an american adapted one, since it comes with kale and eggs! You will never find this in Spain. But indeed, it was good
Their croquetas are super tasty, we love them.
    The bacon was too burned
We had also jamon and pan con tomate and they were good as well.
    Escalivada was average.

We will come back to try the seafood paella!

  3. Wow love this place. Def make a reservation. I luckily did for 715 on a Thursday night and I'm glad I did cuhs it was popping.

Tapas were good. We got the 1) bacon wrapped dates 2) quail egg chorizo on toast 3) lamb skewers 4) octopus. Most come in 3's so they brought out 4 instead so it was easier to split between me and my friend.

The pitcher of sangria $39 is soooo good. We got the red. And it was a decent amount split by 2 ppl. We each had like 2-3 glasses before it ran out.

Prices are def pricier. Our bill for all the above came out to be around $98 without tip for us 2. But the interior is hip and modern and its def a place to be. Would come back for the quality food and lively ambience.

  4. I've been to their location on 19th Street several times over the years but a few months back noticed their UES location so a friend & I came here instead.

    **Reservations are recommended.

The service was attentive, prompt & friendly.

We started with cocktails & then got a bottle of wine. Similar to past experiences, food was great. Got a selection of appetizers Salteado de Setas, Sautéed wild mushrooms, Gambas,  Croquetas Cremosas, Pulpo a la Plancha, Patatas Bravas…..everything was delicious. Finished off with Churros & nutella! Delicious!

The location seems bigger than the one at 19th street.

  5. SO good! I went to Spain a few months ago and this is so authentic (minus the NYC prices lol). My sister & I came here on Saturday night around 830 PM and the place was completely booked, luckily we found a high top by the bar with full dinner service offered from there, only downfall is the tiny tables made it hard to fit everything. The sangria was great ($11/glass), I got the red & my sister got Rose. We then got the bread w/ tomato jam which was like my favorite in Spain, so this did not disappoint! Then we got patatas bravas, SO GOOD, huge portion for $6, the bottom has like a hot sauce, its perfect. Then we got the lamb skewers ($12 I think), which had this delicious sauce on it and a piece of bread to go with it, amazing. This meal was perfect, no complaints on my end at all (except that it made me miss Spain oh so much).

  6. The last time I went to Boqueria, I had a less than stellar experience and wrote about that experience on Yelp. To my happy surprise, the manager replied to my review and invited myself and a guest back to Boqueria to try their brunch feast on the house.

I am happy to report that on this occasion, Boqueria exceeded standards. The manager came over to our table to introduce himself and ensure that we were enjoying ourselves. Our waitress was a gem, and extremely attentive throughout our meal.

The brunch feast is not kidding, it's a LOT of food. Great bang for your buck. To start, you get to pick four tapas. We chose the croquetas, Shihshito peppers, tortilla espanol and the patatas bravas. All delicious and came quickly.

For our main, we went with the paella which turned out to be absolutely great. Unfortunately this was a huge portion and we were unable to finish. Dessert was a churro sundae. I should mention that all throughout, drinks are being topped off.

I loved the experience we had and was (and still am) extremely grateful for how management replied to our concerns from our last visit. Will absolutely be back, which makes me happy since I had loved Boqueria prior to our last experience.

    A true five stars!

  7. liking chain restaurants goes against everything my cliche self stands for, but i gotta tell ya, i dig this place. ive been to a few locations and each time i am not upset i went. aside from dinner, the brunch deal is great. 39 bones for all ya can drank along with a wide variety of shared plate options. if you go to this location, sit at the bar. michael is awesome and will make you laugh. thx dude for putting up w my rowdy crew last week besos!!

  8. Very solid deal and great, authentic cuisine. Our waiter Javier was spectacular and I hope management or whoever gives him his due when they see this. I've lived across the street from Boqueria for nearly a year now but only just recently ventured indoors due to the average reviews posted here. As a Yelp vet I can confidently say they are vastly underrated on this forum. You'll be hard-pressed to find another reasonably priced and quality-made brunch deal in the City. The staff is great and eager to help, and the unlimited drinks with the brunch deal literally do not stop flowing.

See my pics for what exactly I got, it was all so good and eclectic that I can't remember the specifics of our order.
