Consistenly good for quality Tex Mex, this taco and tequila joint aims to please. We dined with friends early on a Friday night and sat at a four top in the bar area. The live music is always enjoyable and the food and service quite good.
We sipped on the kafe infused tequila and munched on the homemade tortilla chips and guacamole. The chips are superb…not too oily and just the right crunch consistency. The extra spicy (upon request) pork and chicken fajitas were yummy.
And you will not go hungry as the portions are gigantic.
Great value for a fun casual night out. And the valet guys are great…speedy and super polite. If I had one complaint it is that the menu is really more Tex Mex than authentic Mexican. It might be nice to have a few higher end entree options, some mole, some Mexican style side dishes etc.
But what they do here is just tasty and consistent so it is definitely one of the best options around if you're craving some "tequila and tacos".
Great first date, hundredth date or even family event/birthday. They book in unofficial 2-hour blocks and are very efficient in the manner they serve drinks/appetizers/entrees not to mention the delicious margaritas and tacos ! Although they are known for their delicious tacos (which were phenomenal) try the ground beef chimichangas too !! Highly recommend !
Big kudos to the staff that had to deal with our table. Came by on a Saturday night and surprisingly it wasn't packed considering it was Halloween. They had live music and must say they were pretty great and entertaining!
We ordered a few pitchers of the margarita and they were good. We ordered every shot they had and kept telling the waitress to just surprise us every time we ordered shots. They have great flavors and some were better than others but nonetheless a variety to choose from.
I went with the Jerk chicken taco that they had as special and kinda wasn't impressed. Tacos were dry and didn't seem to have a lot of flavor. Kinda disappointing. What was outstanding though was the salsa they put on the table with chips. That was delicious and full of flavor. The salsa had a nice kick to it, muy Bueno!
Would I come back? Probably more for drinks and if I am in the area. Pretty fun place to hang.
This spot has some great food, but awful parking. It used to be my 'stumbling distance' Mexican joint, but since moving to a different town – I'm not sure how often I'll be visiting it in the future.
Protip: weekend evenings it's impossible to get a table, let alone a spot. Don't do valet, just park on one of the side streets off Morris Ave and hoof it. If it's after the TD Bank closes, you can also park there and the cops don't bother you.
The servers are all dressed up like mechanics and they serve water out of gas cans, it's cool at kitschy and fun. When the owner is there, he always parks his red cadillac outside the restaurant.
They have great tequila and good food. It's a date night spot in the evenings, but I usually went during the afternoon when it wasn't as busy and everything was more casual.
Red Cadillac is a really fun place to get your margarita on and the vibe is eclectic red party, but the food is just so-so. The staff here is super friendly, from the hosts to the servers. Everyone is always making sure you have everything you need and if you're waiting, the hosts go out of their way to accommodate you and your party. On weekends, there's live music which adds to the fun, as well as many group birthdays and celebrations. The margaritas are delicious, albeit a little sweet, and my favorite is just the classic margarita on the rocks with ice, but they have frozen margaritas in many flavors, as well as a full service bar, which tends to get busy during peak hours. The food is just OK in my opinion. The guacamole is good, but it doesn't have that "made at your table" deliciousness (perhaps because it's made in the kitchen). I have enjoyed the the chicken fajitas, but the steak ones are tougher and lack flavor. As far as apps, the steak nachos were terrible and tasted like an old sock to me; the shrimp and garlic is alright, though I wish the shrimp were firmer and fresher tasting; but I really like their chicken quesadilla which is full of cheesy chicken goodness. Topping off a pretty decent meal, a must-try are the churros. I didn't know I was a fan of churros until I came here – absolutely delicious! All in all, Red Cadillac is fun night out with great drinks and pretty good food. Definitely worth a try if you haven't been and are craving a fun Mexican night out.
The Red Cadillac surely has style and a cool look to the place. Waitresses refill your water with red gas tanks and there's an actual red Cadillac sitting right outside of the restaurant. I go here with my friends who live in the area. We've grabbed dinner and drinks; the bar area is fun and the Dos Equis on draft are great. When seated by the bar area, the waitresses are super-friendly and attentive. These are its positives.
For the most part, the food is good. There are some stand out items – like the fish tacos (my favorite thing here) – and the guacamole. I am not a fan of the rice and beans that comes along with a few dishes. Usually, that's one of my favorite things to have with my meal when I have Mexican food, but the flavor just doesn't appeal to my palette. I'm just more into authentic, Mexican food flavors. The food is good here, but the focus is more about the look and presentation.
Now, this may have been an isolated incident, but I should mention it here. There was a weird exchange once between our group and a valet staffer, but it could have been a misunderstanding. Apparently, valet parking is a relatively new thing here. My first time there with my friends was also the day they learned about the parking situation. My friends were curious about why this happened. We were in line for the car to be parked. The valet guy approached us and my friend asked about the parking situation. The valet guy then says that they work for tips; suffice to say, it was an awkward exchange. After our meal, we went to valet to pick up the car. When the guy was not happy with the tip that my friend gave, he scoffed at us and made it even more awkward… While it was a conflict between my one friend and the valet staffer, the latter was rude to all of us and made no attempt to disguise his disdain.
Nonetheless, this is a fantastic place for drinks and appetizers and a boisterous night out with friends (the music is pumping at the bar). You'll have fun!
I was curious to try them because I saw the dad mom and kids on Good day New York promoting how great the food is …. Other than the red Cadillac in front of the restaurant, and the romantic ambience inside the restaurant nothing else was breath taking….
Food was just bland ,drinks in my opinion a high schooler— could make better drinks ! 2 stars because service was great and hubby got a free t shirt lol
A few weeks ago, I visited The Red Cadillac and was very pleasantly surprised. I went to school in the area and had heard some good things but never made my way down to check it out. I certainly wish i had, as this is a great lounge restaurant for casual dinner and good drinks. The atmosphere is beautiful, with touches of automobile decor to tie into the theme. The staff fills your water from a gas container and the bar features a gas sign that really reads off items from the menu. The entire staff managed to leave a good impression. From the waitress who took our drink orders, to our waitress, and even the hostess. We stopped in pretty late and the hostess assured us that the friends joining us would be served and accommodated. The food was casual mexican and was pretty good. The drinks were great. I particularly liked the flavored tequila that was made in house. I even received a free T-Shirt by checking in on Yelp! I'll definitely be back.
