Legit Mexican food. I came here for a quick lunch with Boo Boo.
The waitress misunderstood Boo Boo request to not have cheese or bean in her burrito. We had to send it back because there was beans in her burrito. She thought we wanted extra 😛
The Waitress was really nice took it back and fixed it.
I got the mole and it was savory and smokey. I wanted to clean house but I had to eat slow while the burrito #2 was being made.
We shared the tres leche to-go
The Horchate was not too sweet just to my liking.
Recently we entered here with two beers in tow & totally unsure what we'd find. It looked good, and when we walked in smelled great so we had pretty high expectations when we sat down.
It's small & clearly locally owned and operated – the waitresses were friendly & helpful. We ordered the cheese enchiladas verde & mole chicken. Both portions were gigantic – and delicious. So flavor & delicious.
The beans were really good, the chips and salsa were really good, and the enchiladas blew my mind. Also, the whole meal was less than $17. So basically amazing, inexpensive, good service, and delicious.
You should stop reading yelp and head there now.
Found this courtesy of Yelp. I have a tendency to ignore bad reviews and just go with the flow. Glad I did.
I've driven here twice since then just to grab some chips and dip.
First time eating here. Yelped "Mexican" and this restaurant and another restaurant came up. Of course, I picked this one since it had more stars. Thank god I picked the right one. It's so good.. Not too salty like Jose tejas and beanas. The food is very authentic and delicious!!! Love the guacamole.. It's just right!!
Central Jersey is no stranger to good Mexican food and La Malinche is no exception, but what does this restaurant do differently than the others?
My friends and I work in an area where chain restaurants are a dime a dozen so when we want something authentic, we need to travel about 15 minutes and generally call ahead to place our order. A lot of restaurants will still be cooking our food when we get there but La Malinche sets itself apart. On two separate occasions, we called ahead and arrived to a table that had been set for us with our food waiting for us. I know what you're thinking and no it was not cold. In fact, it was still piping hot!
Speaking of food, it is incredibly authentic. I've tried all of their tacos and can say with confidence that I can't really think of a better taco out there. The chorizo, al pastor, and barbacoa are all quite tasty. On my most recent visit, I kept my order basic with a steak burrito, and it too did not disappoint.
The staff here is warm and friendly, the prices are great, and the food consistently hits the spot. Come and taste for yourself!
