  1. ATMOSPHERE: Romantic little spot with a narrow walkway across the bar that opens up into the back dining area. Outdoor seating available on a cute little patio in the warmer weather. Dimly lit with wine selections ON TAP!

DRINKS: Choose from cocktails, wine on tap, or bottle wine. Large selection, average priced. I would suggest getting there for happy hour.

FOOD: Selection of meat and cheese that comes with a variety of jams and toast. Toast is tasty and lightly coated with olive oil. I'm a carb girl, but of course the cheese is good too. Not the biggest fan of the mushroom one though, but that could be because I don't like mushrooms 🙂 The descriptions explain the body and firmness of the cheese, as well as the flavor notes.

OVERALL: Good date night spot with light bites and a large selection of wine to choose from.

  2. Came here on a date night and it was adorable. Love the color and atmosphere of this place.  The service was lovely as well. This was kind of a "pregame" for the evening so we only had a glass of wine each, olives and bread. Everything was nice and we had a wonderful time. Hope to come back and try more food and wine.

  3. Cute little wine bar in Brooklyn.  Can't comment much other than it's a nice date place and good wine list.  Prices are reasonable.  Would definitely return if I'm in the area.

  4. Cozy and charming wine bar in South Slope. Great selection of wines and food to go with it. Love the dark ambiance, no kids around which is hard to find in this area. Good for a date.

  5. We visited this saturday before the Brooklyn Summer Concert series in Prospect Park. Its a lovely, quaint spot with knowledgeable staff and a thorough wine list.

Their food portions are small but good for sharing, we tried the following:

    – Mac and cheese – has bacon on top!
    – Meatballs – decently flavored
    – Gazpacho – delicious and no dairy! (rare)
    – Mushroom and ricotta crostini – staple

Overall I'd definitely come back if I was in the area. Worth the trip from Manhattan, no, but if you're in the area, definitely worth a visit.

  6. You know when you beat yourself up because you find a gem and wonder how it took you so long to find it? Yeah? This! Brookvin!

If there were more stars to give, I'd be giving them left, right and center here. What an awesome and fun evening my friends and I had the other night.

The space was designed perfectly for what they are selling. WINE AND CHEESE! YUM! There's a beautiful outdoor area with plants, so very charming. Indoors is rustic, dim and cozy.

Firstly, we walked in with only half our party because we weren't sure if the others were coming. Our waiter, let's call him Sally 🙂 offered us the option of sitting outdoors and then moving indoors when they come. Also because they close the outdoor section at 10.

We did order some wine while still sitting outdoors but our friends arrived shortly after so we just moved indoors and continued the night there. Everybody ordered different wines and small eats. All the dishes were incredible and bursting with flavor. I will say that I know I made Sally's life difficult by asking him to choose which wine to serve me, but he truly did not disappoint. I love when the people helping me dine out are so charming and friendly. It makes the night that much better.

I am so glad I now have Brookvin on my radar. This will definitely be the first of many nights here.

  7. Great little wine nook!
If you're looking for a low key, smaller place to chill out and enjoy a glass of wine and some yummy tapas and/or cheese this is it.

In wine bars, I really enjoy being able to sample a plethora of wines and therefore love flights.
This bar did not offer flights BUT did offer 1/2 glasses (for 1/2 price obviously lol) to serve a similar purpose.  Had I not asked about flights though, I would not have known about the 1/2 glass option as it did not seem to be on the menu.

I enjoyed several different food selections while there including the chicken pot pie.  I think this is a must!  Perhaps a bit nontraditional to be paired with wine but this puffy pastry version of a classic meal is delic.

  8. We came on a Sunday evening and it wasn't too packed. Very cute & intimate spot for a candlelit dinner. We ordered a small bottle of wine and a charcuterie plate to share. The portion was pretty big with generous slices of cheese. I really enjoyed the environment.
