  1. Cheap, fast, Hong Kong Cafe food, that pulls the heart strings of your inner Hong Kong, singing back sweet melodies into your soul. It's almost like the beef chow fun kisses you as you eat it, as your tears rolling down your face.

    Glory.

Personal favorites is the Portugese baked chicken or the Salt Baked Chicken over rice. Cash only. There are some tables to sit inside if it's not too busy.

  2. The food that this place sells is good. They are tasty and well prepared. They are made quick as well. The only problem is that their staff don't usually speak English and you may find it hard to buy things from time to time. Other than that, this place is worth coming for!

  3. They need to be more clean when serving drinks. I found a piece of bread in my cold milk tea twice. The rice noodle snack is pretty pricey. The breakfast combos are not bad. It has more options than 168.

  4. Hong Kong style cafe!
Tasty food for a cheap and quick meal.

My favorite items to order from the menu:
    Hong Kong style milk tea
    Taiwanese pork chop rice
    Salt baked chicken rice
Spicy and sour fish filet noodle soup

  5. I wouldn't per say really give 5 stars, more like 4.5 but I'll round up since I haven't really had any issues with these people.

So 88 canteen is pretty close to my house. My boyfriend and I do frequent this spot a good number of times within a month.

    1. Even though their bubble tea is slightly expensive, I really do like the taste of it. They give you A LOT of bubbles and they're pretty damn chewy lol

    2. Their baked meat sauce with spaghetti isn't comparable to 168 bakeries. I like 168's a lot more but i guess that's just based on preference.

    3. My boyfriend and I love their rice vermicelli noodles with peanut/ sweet soy sauce. They give a HUGE portion and it's only $2.95. Can't beat that . Plus, they give a lot of sauce so it makes it super yummy

    4. I've tried a couple of their rice/ noodles dishes and they're all pretty good. They give a good amount to fill you up. Many times, my boyfriend and I will have leftovers for our next meal.

And the canto ladies are pretty nice. They don't yell and you like other places… Will be a long time customer as long as we live around the vacinity 🙂

  6. Man, this place brings back memories of the good o days. It's funny how they secretly migrated into asian bun stores? Cheap, for good. That's all I got to say. Only thing I would complain about is the area tends to get crowded and parking isn't quite convient. Other then that the food can not be complained. Haven't had any dissapointments. I recommend the Tawainese Porkchop over rice. Comes with pickled vegs, mince pork and of cours the tea egg. Or the 3 cups chicken over rice!

  7. Cheap and tasty pork bun, if you come in the morning before 11am, there is a combo pork bun with egg and a option of tea or coffee.

  8. Been here a few times with friends and mom, everyone loved their food and no complaints ever. This place is a solid 4 star. The flavor is great, economical, good portion, local eatery without venturing too far. I definitely see myself keep on coming back for quick takeout and for simple-nothing-flashy kind of food hk style home-food.

Love their congee, there is only one choice (Thousand year old egg with pork and plenty of ginger shreds) for $3.75 and comes with fried breadstick, it's unbeatable! I really hope they will expend their congee list.

Great selection of spaghettis / baked rice ($5.50 – $6.50) — I especially love the french sauce pork chop spaghetti! The flavor is on point and comparable to canteens at HONG KONG (legit) ! The portion is huge. I usually eat half for lunch and for dinner I stir fry the leftover with some onion. Yumm

The mike tea is great (I get it with less sugar) a small for $1.10

Overall, I can't wait to come back and try all of their other dishes but for now I cannot stop thinking about the french sauce pork chop spaghetti ughhh
