This restaurant is named to a traditional old-fashioned printing press yet it is dark with inadequate lighting, which is difficult for patrons to view the menu. It houses all the comforts of a typical Long Island vibe. The Maryland Crab Cakes are very tasty yet not as dry with the right flavor. The French Onion soup is comforting for a bitter cold winter day. The drinks are average price and I don't know if they offer Happy Hour.
went here for my friend's bridal shower. cute place and good food. have to come back one day to just eat at the restaurant.
Came for a baby shower. Blah. We all know how much fun those are.
But the food and service here made the experience bearable. The food was good and the service efficient. Some of the servers looked flustered, although it was 50 women just sitting in one place for hours (ie, not a whole lot of stress-factor there), one or two servers seemed confused. The rest quickly noticed empty drink glasses and refilled them, cleared plates off the tables, and served the food to the right people.
I ordered the chicken option as my entree. But, I had to repeat it to her 3 times because she seemed confused that I said, "soup and chicken". (i.e., soup as the starter). When the table's orders arrived, she handed me the beef. I told her I ordered the chicken, then she looked at me as if to say "are you sure?". She left and returned and looked at me and I, again, said "chicken."
About one table served later, she finally brought over a chicken. Everyone at my table was already eating. Not a huge deal, but definitely noticed the confusion over my simple chicken order. The chicken was tender and well-flavored. The potatoes were cooked properly – not too hard or soft – and with a yummy flavor to the skin.
Definitely seems like a good place to have a low-key party or gathering. The decor was very Montana-cabin-in-1859. Or I would guess anyway – Moose heads, rustic fireplace, etc. Parking is difficult in the area – the place has a tiny parking lot and everything else is meter parking.
Awful. Awful… I don't need to say much more
but I will.
The bread is hard and cold, the burgers cooked to an exact imperfect char, steak sandwich dry and flavorless. The service as dim as the atmosphere, and slow like the long drawn out horns of the train that rumbles behind the old walls of the Davenport… friendliness as stale as the food makes this place a real winner… The expense is the final straw that will keep me from ever going back.
Sarcasm aside this place is wonderful
Oh sorry, I'm a New Yorker
This place.. Forget about it.
I have been back here a few times because we are booking my sisters bridal shower here. The food is excellent, the decor is different and the price is right.
We made a reservation for Valentines day and dinner was delicious. I thought it was going to be a prefix dinner as advertised in their lobby, but I didn't realize that that prefix menu was for the weekday only. Regardless, we had a great dinner.
We ordered the sesame crusted seared tuna appetizer, which my husband loved (he loves sushi), I got the pistachio crusted red snapper which was a special on the board and it was delicious! My husband ordered the salmon with a mango salsa and he loved that as well. For dessert the cheesecake, which is made there and is yummy!
Lino the manager gave out roses to all the women, and the children got boxes of chocolates. We were almost surprised there were hardly any single couples, there were groups or tables of 4 and i am sure we were probably the youngest of all the patrons. I am looking forward to the party here in a few months.
