  1. Came here on Mother's Day with a party of nine, one third of whom were mothers.  One third of the mothers (9 x 1/3 x 1/3 = 1 mom; woohoo, math integrated into my Yelp review) had suggested this place and we made reservations.  Seating was fast.

Because it was a special day, Charlie Brown's was running a set menu.  This meant you also couldn't get the free app with Yelp check-in, which was a slight disappointment but one I expected because of the revised menu.  I ordered a steak and shrimp combo and this is what I can say: if I compare Charlie Brown's to what I think are comparable steakhouses (chain types like Outback or Boulder Creek, or Longhorn) I would say the cut of meat was better than Outback or Boulder Creek.  I felt it could have used more seasoning, as I reached for the salt/pepper to add flavor.

Since I'm rarely in this area, I probably won't be going back, but I have no complaints about my meal.  If I were to return though, I'd be interested in seating in the room off to the side where the walls are lined with fully stocked bookshelves.  I'm a fan of those old handheld devices (you know, the ones with pages) so I'd get a kick out of perusing them while waiting for my entree.

  2. This place SUCKS! I mean S-U-C-K-S! No good, stay away, ME THINKS NOTS!

We were sat down pretty quickly close to the bar. The waitress Alyssa was not friendly or welcoming at all, its like she was forcing herself to sound like she was nice and I seen right thru it! Acting is not for her. Anyways..

Menu offeres from seafood to chicken to obviously steaks, and we started off with the nachos supreme and when you check in you get a free firecracker shrimp which is shrimp drowned in a chiptole sauce. The nachos came out messy and that extra guacamole you put on it not worth the extra fee cause its literally just a spoonful on top of a nacho. The shrimp I didn't try cause it did not look at all like something I wanted to even smell.

Main dish, sesame ginger chicken with garlic mash and my boyfriend ordered the balsamic chicken with garlic mash. NOT GOOD AT ALL! & there was a whole leaf clover of garlic in my mash! REALLY. Couldn't eat the whole thing neither could my bf and he as you know from previous reviews the guy would eat anything cause he is not a person who would waste food.

Everything just sucked and the waitress did not make it any better neither with her lame attitude and there was a waitress here that looked like she would be delivering her baby any day and she was on the go and really nice too.

Oh btw theres a salad buffet, didn't even wanna get up cause it was not at all appeasing.

Never will go back. Not worth it, I rather go down to the CHECKERS down the road any day!

  3. We stopped in for a few beers at Happy Hour with low expectations. My wife and I were surprised in a good way at how enjoyable our experience was. The bartender was very friendly and made sure the glass was never empty. The beer selection is "ok" for a chain, but they had a lot more bottled beer than I expected. We split wings and mozz sticks to snack on. The wings were surprisingly good and the sticks were about what you'd expect from a chain. Our bill, with two apps and 6 beers was about $40… a steal if you ask me! I don't know if I would come back for a full sit down meal, but CB's will do for a decent Happy Hour.

PS: Props to whoever picked out the local photos on the wall. They are neat, and give a nice local touch to the place

  4. My husband and I came in on a recent Friday for Happy Hour.  We sat at the bar and had a decent experience, much better than we anticipated.  The beer selection is okay with a one or two unique offerings on draft.  The bottled selection is the same, with a couple of choices not available everywhere, like Reds Apple and Twisted Tea.   The bartender was very nice and provided excellent service.  We ordered wings and mozzarella sticks, which were safe choices but good.  We were there for a few hours and our bill was very, very reasonable.  For the price, I can't complain.  I'll be back, but based on other reviews and previous personal experience I will stick to happy hour at the bar!

  5. Steak wasn't good, I didn't expect much from this place, but I didn't expect to add a half of bottle of salt to my steak for some flavor either…..but let's start at the beginning….

We walk in to no hostess, waiting a couple of minutes and still no one came, I finally ask a woman by the bar if a hostess was working, she apologized and took us to our table.

Our water was Lance, by the time he came over we already knew what we wanted to order, I also checked into Yelp so I got a free appetizer, was suppose to be the shrimp, but instead he took the loaded nachos off, he forgot the shrimp, but whatever.

For appetizer like I said we had the loaded nachos, they were good, pretty generic tasting, not enough meat, and was served on a thin flat plate, so nachos, cheese, and meat, were getting all over the table.

The French onion soup was just okay also, nothing to rave about.

They did have a salad bar, but something about having to make my own plate, cafeteria style, with other people's germs floating all over the place, made me avoid it.

For dinner my husband & I both ordered the New York strip, cooked medium, even though mine came medium well, was chewy, and had absolutely zero flavor, the garlic mash potatoes were just okay also, tasted like something that he bought on wholesale, and not fresh. They actually looked and tasted just like Uno's potatoes.

At the end of the day you get what you pay for, the bill was $50.

Lance was attentive, wasn't his fault the food sucked.

Will I be back? Probably not.
