  1. I don't care if you're trying to take an idea off of chipotle, qdoba or anything else. This fast and easy joint will give you a nice fill. Their menu is nice and simple and their work flow is exactly like chiptole's. Nothing much else to say expect that everything is quite good. Quac is extra.

  2. A step-up from Chipotle both pricewise and in quality, Burrito Blvd. is exactly what it looks like on the inside. Pick a style of consuming your choice of meats/rice/vegetables/salsas, pay extra for guac ("only" $1.05 here), and enjoy your no-frills meal. They only have one rice option, the ubiquitous orange variety, but it's fluffy without the symptoms of being overcooked or dried out. I've tried both carnitas and pollo here, and both meats are doable – nothing special, but there's something to be said for having a known quantity in your bowl or burrito.

Your orders range from $8-9ish, so if you get a platter plus guac and a drink, you're looking at spending $12 for lunch. Not a great deal, especially since serving sizes are noticeably smaller than at your typical Chipotle. Since there's no aforementioned chain within walking distance of the courthouse in Mineola, Burrito Blvd. isn't bad to stroll down if I'm really in the mood, but I won't rush to settle down here.

  3. Just went to Burrito Blvd for lunch and its pretty good. Conveniently located by the LIRR Mineola train station. I got the veggie bowl and I agree with most that the food was pretty fresh. BUT this is NO Chipotle. I can't say that it is better…it is just different. Cool decor and light Mexican music playing. I would definitely go back.

  4. "Oh we gonna rock down to Burrito Blvd…And then we'll take it higher!" – to the tune Electric Avenue.

I really know how to get into trouble! With my wife away and getting home early from the city I hop off the LIRR then swing by Burrito Blvd. I order a Carnitas Burrito and anyone familiar with Chipote-coli will know the ordering process. Unlike the big C, Burrito Blvd has fresher, better tasting ingredients.

The burrito I put together had no rice, pinto beans, grilled onions and peppers, grilled squash, carnitas, pico de gallo, corn salsa, green hot sauce, cheese, crema, lettuce and tomato. I pay the girl behind the counter and she hands off my burrito so I tuck it under my arm rushing out like a linebacker with a football!

When I got home, I placed this pillowy delight on my dining table with a satisfying thud – I think the table may have whimpered a little bit! I grab a beer from the fridge and I proceed to polish off the entire thing like I really was a college football player!

I struggle to write this as I lay here in a delirious stupor contemplating what have I done? Frankly, I'd do it again!

  5. It really is a low-key spot similar to Chipotle.  I have to say I was hesitant in coming to this eat-in spot, but I don't regret it at all.  Might be a weekly joint prior to getting drinks at the bars for a Friday or weekends.  It was great!  The guac is only $0.92 compared to Chipotle's ridiculous $2.10.  I would highly recommend it for anyone that is driven help this business be a fixture in Mineola.  I doubt they will have problems considering they are in front of Winthrop Hospital and assuming many, many employees would go into that spot for lunch.  Bravo!! 5 stars!! Highly recommend!  Setup is similar to Chipotle but I have to admit the taste and flavoring for this place is a lot better than Chipotle.  I presume it is because of the number of people isn't as substantial yet.  Go check it out yourself!!

  6. Came here after work cuz we were super hungry and we both got the Carne Asada burrito which is the steak one. That thing was huge and packed to the max! Biggest burrito I've ever seen. Pretty much the size of your head. You can ask for extra rice and they'll gladly give it to you. I would say they give you way more than a burrito at Chipotle. I added sour cream and mild salsa to it, giving the burrito a nice kick to it. I couldn't finish the entire burrito so I was able to save the other half for lunch the next day. Very good and friendly service. Would highly recommend.
