I brought my mother here for her birthday, since she had a craving for Thai food. I read up about the place and had high expectations. Let's just say I was not disappointed. It's a cute little place with limited seating. We went on a Tuesday evening and had no problems getting a table. They don't take reservations. I've gotten so used to having just satisfactory Thai food that I was completely taken by surprise when I ate exceptional tasting thai food. Wow! What amazing flavors and large portions too. We were three people and ordered the Mushroom Crunch, Stuffed Tofu, Pad Thai and A La Panang. We shared them between us and there were plenty of leftovers by the end of dinner.
The Pad Thai was really interesting. It had a smokey flavor to it that really made it something to remember. Would definitely order again.
The Mushroom Crunch was really nice, although not my favorite as other reviewers have said. It was a very unique appetizer and the jalapeño tartar sauce went perfectly with it. The sauce wasn't as spicy as I expected and was more on the tart side of things. It was a nice contrast to the rest of the dishes, which were more on the sweet side.
I had no idea what to expect with the Stuffed Tofu. It was really just a large fried slab of tofu with pickled(?) cucumber and tomato inside, all slathered in a chunky peanut sauce. The combination of the different textures and flavors worked really well. I'm a sucker for peanut sauce, so there's not much more to say.
My favorite was the A La Panang. I had never tried this Thai curry before, but it'll now be a staple dish when I eat Thai. It was sweet and spicy and creamy. I thought the heat was perfect, but it was a bit much for my fellow diners. Like I said earlier, the portions are huge! There was so much tofu in it, which was really great. Protein is important and they certainly didn't skimp on it.
The best part of the experience was actually the end. I had bought a little birthday cake for my mother and when I asked if they would let us eat it there, they let us. Not only that, but they brought us plates and forks and wished my mother a happy birthday. They were so friendly and didn't kick us out even though we sat there for about 2 hours.
There's no doubt I'll come back here many times.

My wife didn't really care for it, and she is the (self proclaimed) Asian food expert in the B household so I should really bow to her superior knowledge, but she doesn't yelp, and I do, so it's my take you'll have.
Starters were terrific, my main course of red curry (a la Panang) was filling, tasty and quite spicy…my 'cream' Thai tea was a first, and won't be a last – super refreshing for a hot and sticky night.
Service a bit chaotic, but we were in there at rush hour but I enjoyed it.
Came here with a pal around 5:45 on a weeknight, and funnily enough, we had no trouble getting a table! They had a pre-dinner special – something like $15 for an appetizer, main and drink. Quel deal! I had the summer rolls to start – delicious. For my main I had the shrimp pad Thai – no complaints. And the Thai iced tea was INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS, as it invariably is. It took my friend a while to get the server's attention when we wanted our check, but all in all we loved this place and I would definitely come back. I'm not sure if it's affiliated with Pinto Restaurant in Brooklyn Heights, but both are great and worth a visit!
Went here this Monday to grab some noodles. Wanted to try out this place since I was in the neighborhood and was craving Thai food. Atmosphere was very relaxed and the dimmed light gave it somewhat of an romantic feel (for those of you looking for a good restaurant dating hang out). My friend and I shared crispy rolls as appetizers and they were good – nothing too memorable though. The pad Thai however was amazing! Ordered with shrimps and they were cooked perfectly! I will come back for more of those yummy noodles, that's for sure!
A tiny restaurant is the first thing that comes to mind.
We were cold and hungry and managed to find a place that looked empty on Saturday night. Obviously when a restaurant looks empty it's not a good sign but I mean we were hungry….
The service was okay. The staff were really quiet. The curtain that they hang over the door does nothing to keep the cold air out, so as your eating or waiting for your food don't be alarmed when a whiff of cold air comes over you…
On to the food review:
– DRINKS all range from $10+; some of the wine options aren't sold by the glass, would have to buy the bottle which is only about $26-28. Drinks that we had were all standard in taste, as you can tell I don't recall Any of the names. Nothing special (3/5)
– PAPAYA SALAD: again nothing special. It's a papaya salad, I would hope that no Thai restaurant is able to mess this one up. But I did appreciate that their version was not Spicy. (3/5)
+ MUSHROOM CRUNCH: aka FRIED MUSHROOMS.. probably the best thing we had.The tartar/white sauce that comes with the fried mushrooms was delicious. I wish they had a baked version because I felt that it was a bit too greasy but it was tasty (4/5)
– CHICKEN PAD THAI (2/5): No. Don't do it. I don't know why, but the sauce literally tasted like burnt BBQ sauce. It was really dry, bland and not that good. I would suggest getting another dish.
+ S.K's sautéed vegetables: (5/5) this was probably the best thing that we had as an entree because it wasn't dry! It's a soupy vegetable dish and you can add protein for an added cost. It also comes with a side of rice. It tasted like the base was a sweet chicken broth mixed in with a bunch of vegetables.
In general, not sure if I'll come back when I'm here in NYC.
Very good Thai food and a hidden treasure in the West Village. My Garlic stir fry with tofu and extra Chinese broccoli was great: flavorful and refreshing: plenty of fresh zucchini, bok choy, chopped mushrooms, and peppers . The spicy tilapia with string beans was very spicy but also very good. The spice levels here are very authentic so be aware of that before you order extra spicy! Service was great and the space is small but cozy. Definitely worth a visit! FYI – the Pad Thai is also a must-try so recommend splitting an order with the table! Prices are also very reasonable at ~$12-15/dish.
Been to this restaurant once before for dinner, but too crowded to get a table (tiny spot), so I got a Candy Crush cocktail (really sweet) and left. This time I came in for lunch and the place is surprisingly deserted on a Wednesday.
As others have noted before, the lunch special here is killer. For $8: Mushroom Crunch appetizer and the PCU Noodle w/chicken entree. The crunch is six pieces of heavily fried thick cut mushroom slices with a sweet/tangy sauce to the side. A tad oily yet flavorful and an excellent starter. The PCU noodle is served hot with large portions of chicken and veggies. Could have been a little spicier though I was fine with it. Where they make their money here is the drinks; ordered the cheapest thing they had: a Singha beer ($6).
Service here is quick despite pick-up/delivery orders. Great value for lunch, especially for the area. NOTE: they don't take Amex.
I was so excited to check this place out given the reviews and my love of Thai food but was underwhelmed with my dining experience.
The shrimp Pad Thai had an unusual grilled/smokey taste that caught me off guard. Noodles and shrimp were cooked perfectly but the actual taste wasn't traditional. The crab fried rice in a coconut was visually appealing but didn't do it for my taste buds – really lacked flavor.
On a positive note the Thai iced tea was awesome and the presentation was really creative. The actual restaurant is very small and intimate with dim lighting (very cute). I would give it another shot and order different entrees.
