Brought some one here for a birthday dinner. I'm not a seafood person. But can tolerate it. Today I tried the Habanero shrimp bits and grilled shrimp. If you like food with a kick than this world be your choice. The sauce is sweet with a kick. Like a Asian sauce.
I'm always a R.L. brad guy. There cheesy garlic biscuits is always good. Eaten then I'd why I can not finish my meal.
The place is low level noise and relaxed atmosphere. Good for groups and some very low playing music I vaguely can hear in the air.
The service was excellent today. Theyoung lady who was or waitress was very good and attentive.
I rarely eat at sit down chain restaurants but this one is an exception. My parents (hard to please, trust me) love this spot for all our holidays and celebrations.
I've discovered better locations before but never had any unpleasant experiences here.
Food is consistently good. Obsessed with the free cheese biscuits for the table.
My only complaint would be the slow service. The last time we went, our drinks took forever and same with the entrees.
Why is this place a two? You know it automatically gets a 3.5 just for the biscuits, regardless of service or location!
Came here for a weekday lunch. Now I've been here a few time before and I must say our experience here last go-around quite nice. We were greeted by a fun-upbeat manager playing the host for the time being. She sat us down in a booth rightfully so as there were less than 10 parties in the establishment (well from what I scanned walking through front entrance).
Our server was great. Took our drink orders and immediately came back with our drinks and basket of biscuits. Totally an added plus if you ask me. I've been to some Red Lobsters where don't even give you the biscuits until you've ordered your meals AND then it comes out with your salad. In all seriousness, you don't need to be holding off on the goodies. Everyone comes to RL specifically for the biscuits.
I had questions about the shrimp special I saw on TV and our server was able to show us where it was on the menu.
So I had ordered the 30 Shrimp for $11.99 and my respective partner order the simply grilled Salmon. Food came out within reasonable time. Plates looked presentable. Food was warm. Vegetables were cooked right. Drinks were refilled as they reached less than a third. Extra napkins were present.
All was well with the world.
As a person who despises chain restaurants, I grumble every time someone mentions going to one. So, when my mother said she wanted to do Red Lobster as our Easter dinner, I obliged, as it is probably our last Easter in New Jersey (hopefully).
When we pulled up to the parking lot, the place was packed. I guess people don't really eat Easter dinner at home anymore. Either that or they just don't celebrate Easter period.
There were at least 30 people waiting when we walked in. We gave our name, were given the buzzer, and told the wait would be 15 minutes. About five minutes later, there must have been 10 tables filled. And then the mass grew and a crowd of 30 more people swarmed in. Just in the knick of time, we made it before the mad rush. Seconds later, our buzzer sounded and we were on our way to our table.
Jaime was our server … sweet, welcoming, she took our drink orders promptly after sitting down. When she returned with the drinks minutes later, we put in our orders. No appetizers this time, even though I was tempted to try the Lobster Pizza.
I got the Atlantic Salmon (wood-grilled) with a baked potato and broccoli with a garden salad. My momma got the Rock Lobster Tail with a Potato with a Caesar salad.
Our salads were out moments later with those fabulous rolls. My salad was ok – the tomatoes tasted funny, and DO NOT get the balsamic vinaigrette (unless you get it on the side, as they drowned my veggies in it).
The meals were out a few minutes after we finished the salad. My salmon was grilled to perfection, the broccoli was cooked perfectly and the potato was fab. My mother's Rock Lobster was delicious, as it always is.
Full but not suffocatingly stuffed, we passed on dessert & coffee – I have chocolate I am attending to right now as I type this. I must say though that the
Our bill was only $50, not too bad. The service was excellent. If this was a non-chain restaurant, they definitely would have gotten a four but that's a no-no in my review writing.
My folks and I have been coming here to eat for years. We sometimes come with my aunt and uncle as well. We've always had a great time. The only complaint I ever have really is that getting to it can be a bit of a pain since we have to do a U-ee off of 46 West to get back on in the opposite direction which is the side that the restaurant is on. Red Lobster never fails to please me. The food is tasty and actually very well-prepared for a large chain restaurant. I love seafood and this location is great for families, dates, whatever. The exterior of the restaurant has changed a few times in the past and they re-did the interior once (I think the place had to close down for a little while) but luckily the food has never suffered. We were here for dinner on Friday night and I had seen the endless shrimp promotion on the television and decided to take advantage of it. What was odd was that it wasn't obvious on the menu but I ordered the teriyaki shrimp and shrimp scampi in garlic over rice pilaf (you get two choices). I had two rounds of both choices followed by an apple tart-like dessert with ice cream and I was completely satisfied 🙂
We found it rather surprising, that a restaurant that boasts seafood and fish should almost rarely mention any fish by name on the menu. It also seems strange to us, that for a restaurant that boasts seafood and fish, there would have to be a separate fresh fish menu.
Where were the scallops? Where was the mahi mahi?
To compound things, service was very slow, although there were almost no diners at the restaurant. We found that a little bit surprising.
Red Lobster seems to have changed quite a bit. Unfortunately, not in the right direction. To us, it's not worth a second visit.
It's Red Lobster- and yes worth going. Check for coupons or online deals.
Best to check it out during Lobsterfest or other holiday dining.
