Really fellow yelpers? La Nortena is open 24 hours, good for hangovers and is kind of like a permanent food cart truck with some seating via bar stools in the front. There is an al pastor gyro thing in the front as well and pretty much an open kitchen. This place is really cheap, no hassle place to order some really good, mostly authentic Mexican food that you can eat while standing on the street. I've been here when health inspectors were inspecting this join, I've been here at 12pm, 3AM, 8PM, 1AM, you get the deal. I've even ordered delivery. Cash only.
For me, you can't go wrong with tostadas, tacos, tortas or burritos (huge huge). My friends are obsessed with their Pizza Mexicana (basically it has a ton of toppings on a pizza including jalapenos). As Jacqueline demonstrated below, ordering delivery is difficult and I figured that. The only time I've ordered delivery was when I wanted a pie. I actually ordered in person, verbally told the women the address (work) and even wrote it down and then they delivered although it was like an hour later since they had to make the pie from scratch. It worked out this way otherwise I say go in person and just eat there. It's an experience.
It helps if you speak Spanish, I always speak to them in Spanish which led to a nice ten min convo with the Mexican lady I usually see there (mostly men working) and she talked about coming to the USA, her difficulty learning English and her kids (aweee).
Service can be a little slow in the evening, weekends since I usually encounter a line.
During the winter they put this plastic stand thing around the front so you are shielded from the elements.
