  1. Cheap and quick and a lot of tables.  I especially like their California rolls which I normally do not really like.  The avocado is very fresh.  I've tried their sushi lunch special and their pork katsu bento box.  Both very good.  The only thing I don't care for is their salad.  Their lettuce is soggy and the dressing they use has a strange taste.

  2. Cozy little place on E 31st. I got the "regular sushi" plate which included 8 pieces of assorted sushi, salmon, tuna, etc plus California roll and a bowl of miso soup for just $16.95. Tough to beat that in Manhattan!

Friendly service, decent sushi, and reasonable price=winner in my book.

  3. Very solid sushi place in the area.

This place has incredibly fast service and the staff is very friendly. I ordered here for pickup mostly, but have dined in as well once or twice, and have never left disappointed. Fresh food that's well made and tasty.

  4. Great lunch deal. Right in the midtown area, perfect for those who work/live close by. I usually do take out and my order is always right. They also have a nice seating area if you do decide to dine in. Prices are on the cheaper side.

  5. Akura is on my rotation of regular lunch spots in the city! They have a full page of lunch specials for you and your co-workers to enjoy. My personal favorite is the salmon teriyaki bento box. It's a simple dish with one slice of fish and the box also comes with a small salad with ginger dressing, 3 pieces of shumai, and a California roll. I'm not the biggest fan of California rolls so I usually ask to substitute a tuna roll in for $2 more. Sometimes they do it for me, sometimes they don't. Depends on the server. Doesn't hurt to ask!

I came in yesterday with my boss and we often talk about how getting two rolls isn't enough food, but three rolls will put us in a food coma for the afternoon. Coming in as a pair is key as we were able to order one 2 roll combo and one 3 roll (both meals come with miso soup). This way we each get 2 rolls to ourselves and can split the extra roll with 3 pieces each. I can't say they have the best tasting rolls I've ever had, but I'd say they're pretty standard. The bill came out to around $11/person. Decent price for all the food you get… But I'll try to stick to my usual order next time! 3.5/5 stars.

  6. Eel don Lunch special while cheap was mostly flavorless. Some of the food tasted off also.

Green tea: Very watery, tasted like Ito-En if Ito-En was diluted with a gallon of water. Didn't finish for once.

Miso soup: Quite watery and the seaweed had an odd softness instead of a crunch. Didn't finish for once.

Eel presentation was interesting. Came with some pickled vegetables as usual. The eel wasn't super slimy and it was a good amount of pieces for 12.95 which is good though the rice was quite clumped, probably made before or they made it wrong. I finished the fish but not the rice.

One of the women working there was pretty nice while the other didn't seem to care much. Didn't ask how the food was or come back again or anything of the sort. Had to ask a few times for certain things.

The food overall was not super good. Regardless of the price, I wouldn't recommend this place. I mean, if you want cheap good sushi, you might as well go to East 2 blocks up. If you want Japanese food, there are much better choices for very similar prices (12 dollar meal at Kirakuya for lunch says hello with much better tea/service)

  7. This is only a delivery order so probably opinion is biased towards food quality rather than ambience inside the restaurant.

Ordered shrimp/tuna sashimi and crab stick salad. Happily found a complementary orange sliced and ready for eating. Sashimi was fresh and of high quality. Speed was fast as well.

    Would definitely consider dining in.

  8. Came here for lunch. Ordered ahead of time through the Yelp app which is always pretty cool and convenient.

Everything was ready when I got there. I decided not to take out and just eat my food there. It was no problem for my coworker and I to sit at a table.

I ordered the 3 roll lunch special which was a great price. 3 rolls for 12.50 and a complimentary salad on the side. The sushi wasn't bad but it also wasn't that great. The rolls were a little on the smaller size, but again, good price.

I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but if you're nearby and need a cheap sushi fix – this will do.
