  1. Chicken mole was sweet, salty and had a little kick to it.  didn't really like it at first but it grew on me. I liked the sauce in rice. They really pounded the chicken down so it was super flat. The sauce had a cinnamon, clove kind of spice to it and it was only very minimally spicy. Got this with fries, and the fries weren't anything special. Overall would not order this again)

Steak was ok; not my favorite, it was too tough.

We got take out so I didn't get to have the restaurant experience, so I bet the food would taste better fresh. Regardless, good food should taste good 10 minutes after. Not sure if I would ever order from here again.

  2. As soon as you walk in you know you are in an authentic Mexican restaurant.  The decor and all the trinkets make you feel like you are in a restaurant straight out of Mexico.
The wait staff is awesome and are super friendly.  I even got into a conversation with the one waitress about Yelp and another restaurant I like going to.
The guacamole is a must, it is made fresh and  it has tons of flavor. The tacos are great, I had Barbacoa Tacos which are made out of goat meat and I must say that it was the best four tacos I ever had (better then beef).  I have yet to try some of the seafood but, from what I've seen it looks awesome.  For desert, I tried the flan it was creamy and delicious plus, they give you a nice portion enough to spit with a date or enjoy it yourself!
If you are looking for an Authentic Mexican restaurant and you are in the Pompton Lakes area this is definitely a place to check out.

  3. Busy, busy little joint.  Was packed on a recent Saturday night when I went.  A friend from the area took me here and her love of the place wasn't exaggerated in the least.  Super friendly service, great authentic Mexican dishes that were both delicious and portioned in a very un-American way – so I was able to finish what was on my plate!

Guac had no tomatoes in it and that's how it should be! Was also heavy on the onions and that's how I like to make mine at home as well.  I ordered the chicaquiles with huevos and my friend ordered her usual GIANT bowl of Posoles (corn and chicken soup).  One word on the food: fantastic!

Great little place that I'll definitely hit up again in the future.

    P.S.  BYOB!

  4. Now that I have ate here a handful of times I feel like I can properly review them. Good Mexican food for the area. I'm a fan of their tacos….4 tacos, rice and beans for about $12. Guacamole is good too but don't think it's worth $7 for the amount you get. Chips don't seem homemade. Staff is very friendly. It's a small place and gets pretty busy here on a Friday or Saturday night so be prepared for a wait. It is also BYOB so bring your bottle!

  5. Our second time here and somehow the food got even better. The service can be quite slow, and brings way too few chips to start with and way too many for the second round, but the food here is surprisingly excellent. You know it's going to be good based on the decor of christmas lights and univision on tvs. We even played count the sombreros on the walls and gave up after 15. The spicy pork burrito was incredible, served with beans and rice and humungous. The pork was well seasoned and not dry. The burrito itself was nice and juicy, stuffed with the meat, cheese, avocado, and beans. The guacomole was good as well and was a pretty healthy portion for an appetizer. The gyro chimichanga was equally good, with a crispy shell and well seasoned gyro like meat. It's also BYOB so bring some nice Argentinian wine and enjoy the food.
