Cock & Bull

“Brandon suggested that I pair a Ommegang beer with a pot pie that had a bleu cheese biscuit on the crust .”

“I will definitely be coming back I had the fish chips and the scotch eggs the food portion are good for two.”

“Even though I stuck with the comfort food this time around, I'll be sure to try something more traditionally British next time I go.”

  1. This place is superb! I took my fiances family for a proper Shepherds pie and it did not disappoint!

The staff was friendly, attentive and full of energy. They have TVs galore and a projection screen (we watched futbol of course).

I also ordered a burger and it's by far one of the best burgers I've had. Plus, they had HP sauce for my fries.

I will come here every time I'm in NY!

  2. Cock & Bull. Firstly, what an awesome name. Secondly its a British pub with British bartenders! If you dig a British accent, you will love it here. Thirdly, the selection of beer is great. Lots of British beers if you are into that.
I've never had the food here, but would like to try the food. There are lots of TV screens, perfect place to watch soccer.

  3. I wanted to give English Pub fare a try since I have a brother living in England. We ended up loving the food, the atmosphere, and most of all the employees.

First of all, they got us drinks and brought us a menu and several authentic English condiments: a jar of Colman's mustard and a bottle of HP sauce. They came in handy with the Scottish egg appetizer we shared. The egg was cooked more than I was expecting, but it worked nicely with the condiments.

For dinner, we shared a chicken pot pie. It is about an 8 inch pie with a thick crust on top, served with a side of mashed potatoes. It was more than enough food for two people. The pie was full of large chunks of chicken breast, as well as big strips of shiitake mushroom. There were other vegetables in there too.

We left the pub feeling totally satisfied, and in touch with my brother too. Will be back!

  4. A good place to have a drink or a meal.  Separate upstairs dining room so you don't have to deal with the bar crowd.  I had the lamb shepherd pie and was not disappointed, it was the best I had outside of the London, UK area

  5. hummm…beer selection is awesome and the bar is usually packed. the food on the otherhand is rather blah. blah. blah. kinda have to same it was a bummer experience.

  6. Great place to hang out with a group. Usually not too rowdy. Great drinks, decent prices, good food, and excellent service. Love the huge TV as well.

  7. As far as the theater district goes this is affordable. As for service it is your usual football (soccer) bar and they don't rush you or make you feel unwelcome.

Food is OK. It really is not the finest British fare I've had but is passable. It is comfort food and at the moment what I needed.

But…dessert is very good. We're I you if go have a beer and the sticky toffee or bread pudding.

Good people, decent food and a nice atmosphere.
