  1. Great place to visit on a weekday.  This place gets PACKED, but for good reason.  The snow crab legs were priced well and if you get more than two pounds of them, they'll include some potatos and corn.

The mac and cheese here is an absolute MUST. One of the best under $10 mac n cheeses that I've ever had.  The cocktails here are done well and the beer selection is excellent.  I sort of like the "other" place better, but I'd rather not mention names :).

  2. Love the boil special sauce!!! It's the bomb!!! Lots of garlic and butter. Get it with medium spice and it's even better!! I usually get the shrimp but snow crab legs and clams are good too. The crawfish are not worth it cause of the cost and time to get what little meat there is. If you order any of the combos or 2lbs of any of the same item in the same sauce, it comes with potatoes and corn. The Cajun fries and fried catfish are pretty good as well. They give you bibs and gloves so that you don't get yourself all dirty. Also beware that you and your clothes will smell afterwards. Make sure you bring cash cause they do not accept credit cards. There is an atm machine right in front if you should need one and it charges a $2.50 fee.

  3. My reviee is on the wait time only** I cant give a real review because the wait time was 2 hours! Bar space is so tight there was no where to even consider grabbing a drink. Maybe off hours like on a tuesday day…maybe then you can get a table. Maybe one day that I'm off from eork on a Tuesday I can pass by. Oh wait… Im usually on vacation if I have a Tuesday off… guess I will never know whst it's all about.

  4. AMAZING. Crazy long waits though so if you can't afford to wait, go to the Boil Waverly. Just as good but more space/shorter waits. Oh and definitely get the Boil sauce.

  5. Came here with s/o and his sister. Came in around 5:30, was told to wait 40 minutes, waited 20 minutes instead.

    What we ordered,
    APPETIZERS
-papaya mango salad (was OK) heaps of cilantro in it, I love cilantro but felt like it overpowered the salad.
-fried calamari (SKIP) wasn't as good as I expected. The batter was odd, the sauce that came with wasnt our thing.
-Mac n cheese (was OK) was alright.
-catfish basket (MUST GET) came with 3 pieces of yummy breaded fried catfish. Delishhhh.
-soft crab basket (SKIP) there were only 2 tiny crabs with a side of French fries. I would pass.

    MAIN
    COMBO A 1lb shrimp and 1lb crawfish
Got the boil special, spicy. Should have gotten FIRE but didn't wanna risk it but next time we know to get it.

This was the BEST thing I've eaten probably this entire month. The sauce was BUTTERY, GAR(LICKY) and had a hint of spice. MMM. There were pieces of garlic just floating around in the sauce. Everything was perfect about this. MUST GETTTT. I might come back for the lobster next time.

  6. We came here on 7:30 PM Friday night. The total time we waited was around 2 hours. Was it worth the wait? Yes totally. We ordered a Combo A with 1 pound crawfish and 1 pound shrimp with the boil special sauce in medium. We ordered extra corn and 2 sides of rice. They give you plastic gloves here which is great because the smell is so hard to wash off your hands other wise.

The sauce is so scrumptious and from that moment we tried it, we were in love. We've tried a couple of places in the past similar to the boil and the sauces were either overboiled or not flavorful enough, BUT that was not the case here. With every bite we took of the shrimp/crawfish we dunked it into the sauce. Remember this restaurant is cash only, though there is an ATM inside. We are both looking forward to coming back again!

  7. I am fan. I was introduced to crawfish 1-2months ago a prvt event and since then I've had the craving.
A friend decided we should visit the boil. They have 2 locations and I have been to both. I prefer the larger location (NOT the LES one) where they take reservations.

The watermelon drink is delicious and very refreshing. I have tried a few drinks not the menu and they have no disappointed (i.e-I have only tried the sweet drinks).

Staff were always friendly and they can show you who to eat the shellfish if you are  a novice.

The first time I was here the space was perfect, 2nd time the sauce was a tad too salty for me. I guess it depends who is mixing the batch that day.

    My recommendations-
    The watermelon drink
    Snow crab leg
    Boil marinade-Spicy
    Oysters
    Mango Papaya Salad
    Fries

I tried the mac n'cheese and was not impressed.

  8. This week's heat spell, plus the party that was in my pants yesterday equals this joint's name. I. Hate. Summer.

Everything that is good about The Boil is because of two things: the different sauces and the shtick. The shtick is eating with your hands from plastic bags with the shell fish of your choice swimming in rich sauces that are either sweet or will light your hole like the 4th of July. Yes, I meant that one. They give you gloves and a bib(because you're a slob) that evoke childhood memories of chedda bay biscuits & mom trying to sneak as much of said biscuits out in her bag for later. Or, was that just my ghetto ass family?

Skip the Dungeoness crab & go for the King. Why? Because they're the same price here & the real market price is usually 30$ ish for King & 10-12$ for the other, per lb. Skip the oysters. Porque? Because, if a menu just has "oysters" without a choice or name, it's like ordering an appetizer with the description of "meat". That said, the garlic sauce is good on anything. Dump it on your rice or down your pants & it's a flavortown party.

A wise man once said: If I can make your food better then you and you're charging me 3x the price, then your space better be on the top of a mountain, overlooking the ocean, with aliens hovering overhead taking questions while I'm getting a lap dance from a Victoria Secret Model. Negative on all of the above, Houston. The design is pub like. The vibe is Hoboken meets Chinatown.

If ya like eating average shellfish drenched in sauce with a plastic drool guard around your neck, look no further. You've found The New…Red Lobster three point oh. Which, like chedda bay biscuits, has a special place in my heart.
