  1. This establishment is very nice. For the first time visitor I was very impressed with the set up and décor. Spacious setting. Can handle small and large crowds. Went here for a dinner and comedy show. Never heard of this place till tonight. But a exceptional choice.
For dinner I decided on Grilled Oriental Swordfish. Char grilled topped with la light teriyaki and toasted sesame seeds with mixed veggies and rice pilaf. The food is like high price diner food. Good but do not taste as good as it sound.
The Show was really good. John Clark opened up. He was ok. Seem like someone just learning how to make a punch line. JJ Boyd was very funny. He could be a head liner for sure. And the head liner. He do not use much foul language. But keeps you laughing. great material. And the head liner was Coleman Green. He can be a bit over the top. But he kept the crowd entertained.
I will definitely be back to this place. They have talent night the 3rd Thursday of the month. I can see that being funny. Seeing new talent or not try their luck on the stage. But next time I will go for the finger foods they have upstairs. You can go for the dinner and show combo which will run you about 40 bucks per person. Dinner downstairs in the restaurant. Then you go upstairs for the show and when upstairs there is a 2 item (drink/food/desert) purchase per ticket. Or just the show which is about 20 dollars per ticket and two item purchase. They have a huge selection of finger foods to choose from and they look very tasty. They give you a huge portion as well
Lastly the building sits on a corner in Morris ave. Easy to pass it if unfamiliar with the area. Parking is plenty. But if you go when the restaurant and comedy club is crowded. You could find yourself looking elsewhere to park. But over all. it is worth going if you never been

  2. The Comedy Cove part of Scotty's gets some excellent comedians–Robin Fox, Carmen Lynch, Andy Pitz, Rodney Laney, Joe Devito, etc–check the performers' clips on the internet to be sure they match your taste. The staff is very nice, all seats have a good view and prices are reasonable.

  3. The name of the joint is kind of misleading. Yes it's a quasi steakhouse and I didnt see the Comedy Cove portion (although they had fliers for it and it was upstairs). This is not on the level of a "normal" steakhouse. You walk in and you would think you drifted back in time.  The atmosphere is very difficult to describe. Fake palm trees on the inside. Bathrooms reek like cat urine. The design of the place is awkward yet inviting. It's definitely not a 1st date place BUT a good time nonetheless. My gf and I sat at the bar. We waited a while to get our beers from the original bartender who looked/sounder like he was having a bad day (nearly took down the entire liquor rack while we were there). The other bartender was better and quicker. The old men sitting at the bar (farting…literally farting after my girlfriend blamed me, ha!) looks as though they had been there since the 60's. The menu had your normal pub fare along with steaks. We both had a burger (which do not come w/fries so you have to order them separately). They said steak fries but they were more like long thin ones you find at Mickey D's. We both enjoyed them although we were starving so everything probably tasted good. The saving grace was the "Smokers Cove" outside which had a tiki hut next to the parking lot. Overall a good place for a quick drink/burger. They have weekday specials. Tues seems the best with 1/2 price everything including drinks.
