  1. This place is a gem, a beautiful and elegant club in the heart of queens, with beautiful women, charming men, friendly waitresses and staff, what more can a person ask for? This place is nowhere near ghetto or ratchet , the décor and design of this place is worth every dollar, brand new furniture in the vip section , a fireplace by the bar and gorgeous wooden tables with funky wall interiors, dim lights, huge bars on each side of the main room with options ranging from beer to top shelf items. the martinis ranged from 12-14 dollars, while bottle service ranged from 175-850 depending on what you choose, imperia was 175, goose is 275, and bacardi is 225. the place is freaking spotless, there was so many staff around constantly cleaning up spilled drinks and napkins on the floor, even the bathroom was spotless, with marble counter tops and five clean stalls, the lines move quickly too.
the dj was great, he played a variety of music from old house, to new house, some trance, good hip hop and rap songs, the place was lively.
the outdoor patio was heated, its perfect to get some air since it is really loud inside with 0 service, of course this is ideal for smokers.
Coat check here isn't mandatory but in the winter I feel it Is a must, it is only 3 bucks. there is no entrance fee, they offer  valet parking, and all items including their sushi are decently priced.
what makes this place unique is that they have two parts of the club, the other side of the club has another dj and another bar and more tables, so if you get tired of techno you can switch over to the other room with the other dj for a different style of music.
I love how this place is large enough with enough furniture for everyone to sit, they even have these hidden hallways past the bathroom with more furniture to rest if you get tired, not once on the dancefloor was I pushed or shoved, there was a large enough space for everyone, we didn't feel like a pack of sardines.
there was 0 fights, the vibe was great, everyone was really friendly ,not once did I see anyone grill each other, 0 drama.
the security guards also don't act like jerks, they don't care about your background or your size, everyone is welcome here compared to other places in manhattan.
also they have live performances on Fridays, im talkin bout fat joe and Omarion, to troy ave, it cant get better then this!

  2. Flashback circa 2012-early 2014…Ooooo Central…. The times my comrades and I have had here have been memorable. We would come here religiously to have fun , chill, listen to great music and meet new people. I only had the opportunity to dine here once before and I just had the sushi , which was above par .

Present time, I found myself going there on a Saturday night,Oct 18th, for my wifeys close friend 24th birthday celebration. Now don't get me wrong, Central is a beautiful place, and very upper echelon for Queens. The decor and ambiance is worth coming here on any night. However and sadly, i might add, the food and the service left much to be desired.

We had a party of approximately 10 ppl, so im thinking one waitress would be more than enough to handle this sort of range. It was a Prix Fixe menu , $33 per person, which was reasonable. I had scouted the menu online and wanted to try the Grilled Octopus because everyone raved about it. (It wasn't on Prix fixe but we still got it anyway). The appetizers were a collection of six: ranging from Calamari to Kani Salad to edamame and sushi,of course. The calamari was very crunchy and tasty . The edamame basically tasted the same as anywhere else you eat it. The kani salad was a case of a small portion on a big plate , I could have eaten the whole thing with a swipe of a spoon. The salad was decorated with apples around mesculune greens and not much else really.

These appetizers would probably tasted better if , I don't know , maybe they all came out at once!!!! Wthh??? Was up with the service over there??? It took a substantially long time to get the appies. I ordered 4 Jack & Cokes. The first two were heavily watered down, the third was filled to the brim with ice again. Don't even get me started on the entrees. I had ordered the filet mignon, which I probably shouldn't have, seeing as its not a steakhouse and realistically, what else should I have expected, so I'll take the blame for my overzealousness. Wifey had the salmon, which she said was very tender. She liked the salmon until the next day when she had a case off FOOD POISONING all day. So yes, not a good sign.

The presentation of the food was nice and appealing to the eye but not necessarily the taste buds. And again, I cannot stress the importance for any restaurant, THE SERVICE HAS TO BE NUMBER #1.. The main reason the my wife's friend did her birthday there was because she was there for a birthday for a friend a few years prior and she had raved about the " service and attentiveness of the staff". Unfortunately, she did not receive the same courteousy on her special day , which is not right in any way.

While I really love Central as a lounge/ nightclub to go dance, party and hang out with friends,I can't get behind its cuisine nor their lack of attention to the patrons, especially knowing its someone birthday….think about it if it was ur bday and how would u feel.

    Conclusion: as a lounge/nightclub: 4.5.
                         As a restaurant:            2.2/3.

  3. One time is enough for me.

I came here for an engagement party and I was not impressed. This place is very small and has no dance floor but it's not like they really need it with that DJ. Our party had bottle service but we ordered a round of shots (Patron:$12 each). There really wasn't much going on at this place on a Saturday night and the crowd was mostly a whole bunch of creeps trying to menace women any chance they got.

Shoutout to the bouncer that was kind enough to be my photographer all night.

  4. Came here for a non-traditional baby shower on an early Saturday night and really enjoyed myself. The ambiance is really nice for a Queens club/lounge. The souvlaki and lemon potatoes were my favorite from the buffet. I didn't know what to expect since I only know of this as a fist pumping, Greek club but they really pulled out elegance for the shower!

  5. I come here like 3-4 times a year maybe more for birthdays… We always have a good time… But…the guys at the door are really rude like we're getting a table, calm down no ones "cutting" the line… Bad aura from them but once inside had a blast.. Our waitress catered to us all night made sure our drinks were always filled … This place does get packed I would only recommend coming here if are getting a table otherwise you'll just be standing in this mish mosh of people. I've read that some reviews state people are just kind of standing there well u can't really move much and the 2nd you bump into that girl or guy that's had one too many your night can take a turn for the worst haha … Have a good night and get the table it's worth it and u can dance in your little area .. Clean…

Bathrooms could be a little better the door is like right against the toilet when u open it, it's strange lol

A little pricey on the bottles but whatever I'm sure people have paid more at places that were sh*t… Other than that, good times..

  6. My girlfriends and I were out to dinner in the city (Manhattan) and the meal started winding down… One of us checked instagram and saw that Ja Rule was going to be performing at Central. Central? Hmm. Never heard of it. One of my girlfriends said that Central is in Astoria. Astoria? It seemed like another realm from where we were, but, for Ja Rule, anything is possible.

We got in a taxi and headed to Astoria.

    I
    was
    not
    prepared
    for…

How freakin' cute this place is! It's ulta-modern, luxe decor quite frankly, shocked me. It was a pleasant surprise. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the promoters were as well. We were told where he would be performing and strategically placed ourselves right in the middle to get a good view. Well, we did. We ended up watching him from the front row and then he posed for pictures with many people (including us) afterwards.

It was the perfect amount of people. I was expecting everyone to be packed like sardines and me to be left feeling very uncomfortable. Nope. I was absolutely comfortable the entire evening AND I was wearing a WHITE blazer which left without one stain. Woooohooo.

Let's just say that I will keep this place in mind if I am ever in the area (or maybe will see another act there soon).

  7. If I was rating this lounge on decor and interior alone, the rating would be much higher.  Central Lounge is as beautifully decorated as it is spacious, and great for hosting events.  In my case, I was there for a work event where food, beer, and wine were provided.  The penne a la vodka they had was good, nice and garlicky, but the chicken they served was a bit dry.  My beverage of choice was beer, and I was disappointed to find that each one I ordered bordered on being warm.  I can't say too much about the service since this was a closed event, but the staff seemed attentive enough.  All in all, it was a fun experience but not enough to make me want to come back of my own volition.

  8. I went here on a Saturday for someone's birthday.  I was with a solid 3:1 girl/guy ratio and got in quickly.

The club its self is modern and typical to what you would find in Manhattan, but the layout is weird and does not flow well.  The drinks are weak and overpriced, especially for being so far out in Queens.

This place was a sausage fest.  The girls I arrived with all complained that they were aggressively swarmed by short douchey Persians.  The music was wack.  It's this generic euro/house/pop which probably does cater to the crowd in general, but it's not good or cool or anything too which I'd want to dance all night.  The whole experience was just very basic and droll.  I did, however, have fun for the time I was there but that wasn't at all due to the venue its self.

The only plus was that the staff were friendly and attentive.  Also, if you're some basic ass persian douche then this place the spot for you.  Go nuts.
