Going to school in Washington Heights, I actually come here a lot because of the slim pickens of restaurants we have to choose from. The restaurant is relatively small in size and probably can sit up to 20 people at a time. If you have a large party and come during lunch time, forget it.
One shouldn't come here looking for service of any kind, you should come here if you are craving thai food. Water glasses will stay empty unless you ask for a refill. Hot sauce is only available upon request and will not be offered to you. If you come during a time where the servers eat, you will be asked to move your table so that they can combine tables for the employees to eat.
For all of you who are ballin' on a budget like I am (I'm a full-time student), they do offer a reasonably priced lunch menu. For $7.50 or less you can choose from the lunch menu and get a small serving of lukewarm veggie soup (think the size of a small hamster's food dish), a main dish of decent proportion and your choice of salad, larb gai (whatever that is) or spring roll. In Cali where I am from, spring rolls are rolls in rice paper that are NOT fried and egg rolls are fried. The spring roll here is FRIED. I have also had the salad here which is a small serving of mixed greens with a few tomatoes. I think the "spring roll" is the best value here. I have ordered the pad see ew and the pad thai here for lunch specials. The pad see ew is tasty as is the pad thai, but I noticed the portion of pad thai was larger. My classmate and I both ordered a lunch special the other day and both felt full afterwards.
The papaya salad is refreshingly delicious but the portion size is small. Most of the salad is composed of iceberg lettuce which makes the cost a bit high for what it is.
The place is small, and the service is terrible, but the food is pretty good. It gets more pricey without the lunch specials but you also receive larger portions. I definitely think their lunch specials are worth it.
Waited more than an hour for bland, watered down food. I keep trying and they keep failing.
Ewww… I never expected that I was asked to leave.
Here;s the situation: me and my friend came here for a lunch. I already ate so I did not want anything and my friends ordered. Then, a few minutes later, both waitress came and said that they wanted us to move to a 2 person table. Since only two people order the dishes.
We argued that we had three people so it would be impossible for us to squeeze in a tiny table. they said if I felt uncomfortable, I could leave..
I MEAN WTF?
Such a bad service.
No way I will come back
Had the pad kee mow, it was OK, the noodles were a little over cooked no egg and no real chared flavor that I love.
A tiny Thai restaurant that is quaint, family owned, and truly a hidden neighborhood gem in Washington Heights. The inside has brick walls and large photos of Thailand that lights up. It has limited seating with just handful of tables.
Their food is tasty and affordable, and good menu selection. Their Crispy Red Snapper is really something else, it is a bit pricey but it is worth every penny!

Great value for their lunch menu. You get a lot of food! They don't have a lot of seating so if you are coming here for lunch, I advise coming earlier to try to get seats. If you are ordering take out, call ahead at least half an hour or order online. Food has great flavor, will definitely come back again to try other items off the menu.
I have had the pleasure of dining here or ordering pickup or delivery from here about 6 times over the course of the past month and probably 15 times since they opened a few years ago. My recent big increase was due to my discovery of the LUNCH SPECIAL. For $8 you get a really generous, incredibly delicious meal including a lovely light vegetable broth soup with tofu and veggies cooked just right, your choice of salad (really good dressing!) or a veggie spring roll or chicken larb (herb-spiced ground chicken), and an entree. The entree options are things like green curry (spicy! So good!), pad see ew (definitely the opposite of ew), pad Thai, and a bunch more.
The food comes quickly, always. On two occasions I've gotten shrimp dishes when dining in and found the shrimp to be perfectly cooked, fresh, never overdone. The vegetables are never mushy, and I always leave with a really happy tummy.
I brought my sister who lives in Morningside up to Tung Thong (it's pronounced 'tong," like salad tongs…) recently, and she told me she wished they would deliver to 122nd street!
You will not regret your intention to eat here unless you don't like delicious, fresh Thai food.
After seeing that this place had lunch specials on weekends, we decided the order delivery from here on a Saturday afternoon.
The amount of food for the price was pretty good compared to the area. We ordered the yellow curry and pad see ew, both with chicken. Total amount came out to just under $16, not bad! Each entree came with one side (we chose spring roll and larb gai) and soup. The soup was ok but was a little plain. The spring roll was decent as well.
On to the main courses! Of the two we chose, I enjoyed the yellow curry more. Dump the rice into the curry sauce, and enjoy each bite of flavor. The pad see ew was alright, though nothing special. I would prefer longer pieces of noodle, but everything seemed to be mashed up together.
Overall, this was a decent option. The amount of food you get for the lunch special is a bargain.
