  1. Is this the best sushi?- no- but is it an affordable, quick lunch option without being forced into a soup and salad life?- heck ya! Not sure why, but I secretly love their shumai and sometimes will stop by after work just to order a lil shumai snack.

They have all of the standards that you'd expect (sushi, sashimi, teriyaki chicken meals and lunch bento boxes), plus the service is pretty fast as well, which is nice. The staff tends to be pretty friendly and efficient as well from my experience.

I've come in to sit and eat and definitely want to warn you that this place gets crowded and it's not huge so plan accordingly if you don't want to awkwardly stand waiting in the aisle because you showed up at 1220.

  2. Came here for lunch since I was in the area. I walked into the restaurant around 1205 so it was empty except for a couple sitting in the back. I  was greeted immediately and seated.

I  went with the lunch bento box, which was chicken teriyaki white rice shrimp shumai California roll and miso soup for 15.50. I felt this was overpriced considering that I can get the same thing on the west side for $10.

Miso was too salty but I ate it since it was chilly rainy day in nyc when I was here. I asked the waitress not to give me the shrimp shumai and wanted to leave out the fake crab meat in my California roll. The waitress informed me that it was $2 for that. I don't quite understand how that makes sense when I'm asking you not to put in an ingredient smh. The chicken teriyaki was too salty. Wasn't a fan of the food but the service was good and the food came out quickly.

  3. Great place for takeout or delivery. We've ordered from there a few times. If you're hungry, go for the specialty rolls. I ordered three of the basic rolls and was still hungry. The tuna jalapeño was really good. They're quick & fresh so no complaints. Except, next time I'll go for 4 regular rolls or 3 specialty.

  4. Lunch special is ok but they don't give you enough…one roll has 6 small pieces and with a small cup of miso soup it's $15!  Probably would not have been my first choice but it was packed in there and I had to see what the fuss was about.  My advice…don't waste your time!

  5. when I think of Sushi Time, I think of the typical UN staff lunch. you are in and out of there in an hour, so no one has to worry about a pissy boss waiting for you and the lunch box specials are nearly all the same price, so it's easy to throw down a handful of credit cards and split up the bill. the sushi is good and who doesn't love those cute little powdery mochi they present to you in your bento box?

but, let me say this, after enduring an hour and a half long presentation on the Spanish subjunctive tense, in a room with paper thin walls wherein the temperature is about 35ºF (~2 ºC) jetting over for take out vegetable soba is the best thing evarrr.

they pack up a HUGE container, about a litre (~0.26 gallon) of soba and veggies stuffed into a container with some broth and an extra  1/2 litre of pure broth. so one can just slurp away to her heart's content at her desk.

    Notes:
-ridiculously crowded between 1-2, go at an off hour or be rushed out

    -on seamlessweb!

-the maitre d' may ask you, as he once did me, "are you waiting for a woman or a cowboy?" I wasn't quite sure how to respond to that.

maybe it was lost in translation, or maybe he noticed something I didn't.

  6. I wasn't sure how this restaurant was going to be but I liked a lot about it. Firstly, you get seated and served extremely quickly which is ideal for lunchtime. At the same time, we were able to sit for as long as we wanted as the restaurant started emptying out after 1:30pm. Secondly, the $10 2 roll deal sounded a bit expensive but the portions were very generous and came with either miso soup and salad. Thirdly, the rolls themselves were good – spicy tuna and crunchy spicy salmon both hit the spot. I would definitely come back here for lunch. Alas I no longer work in Midtown…

  7. Went here on a random day because a friend wanted sushi and it's been a long time. I'm one of those people that you make fun of because I use a fork, sad I know. They have typical prices for their sushi. I forget the items that my friends ordered but I had their Chicken Katsu Entrée and it was delicious. They give you a small salad before hand with delicious sauce on it and their white rice was wonderful. I'm not sure what the name of the sauce was that they put on the side for the chicken but it was very tasty I wanted to just drink the bowl. I did notice that their location is pending a grade but I don't see why they don't have an A rating. The staff was very friendly and they quickly filled our waters when they were getting half way.

::::::BATHROOM ALERT::::: Wow I was very very very very impressed with their bathroom. My only wish is that I brang my phone into the bathroom so that I could take a photo of it. Their bathroom was so clean that I would eat off it's floor and that's saying a lot. First off the sink is orange and it has this sparkle design on it and there are two soaps for you to choose from when you clean your hands. Their toilet was completely spotless and the bathroom is rather large and its a co-ed bathroom this is why I was so shocked that it was so clean and smelled good. I took my time peeing because I liked how it felt in there. If I do decide to go back here I will have pictures up and ready, very pleased.

With that said I trusted all their food was prepared in a clean atmosphere. The tables are wooden and everything seemed to fit the bill for an A rating once the food people get their pending information off. I think one of the appetizers we ordered was Steamed Vegetable Dumplings and they were really good. There was a lot of left overs so if you go with 3 people all you need is two Entrées and one appetizer. They had some TV's showing sports but I am sure if you ask nicely they will put whatever station you want on. I did notice that this place delivers too because they had someone sent out a couple of times within ordering. I honestly wish I lived close to this place because I would order from them. They also do pickups but most places in the city I believe do.

I want to try their lunch specials because I've read some other yelpers reviews and they seemed to be very pleased.

  8. Sushi time is just the corner of my block. I come here when I just want a quick sushi dinner. The staff is very friendly but this place is pretty pricey for the quality of the fish. You will be ok with the sushi but when the bill comes you will wonder why you just didn't seamless your favorite sushi place.
