It's Ok. Clean, friendly staff, fresh ingredients, but not my go-to fave in its category. I don't care much for their salsa sauces, not spicy enough.
I first discovered Qdoba on a lunch outing while I worked in Manhattan. And then they closed. Most recently I came in for lunch. Being across the street from my job is dangerous.
Look, I love Chipotle, as does the rest of America, but there's something special about Qdoba that can make it hold its own. I'm not sure if it's the fact that they have regular AND spicy queso, or that their bowls come in one of those amazingly crunchy tortilla shells, but Qdoba is worth its weight in queso. The spicy one, because it's better.
As much I as I love me some burrito rolled goodness, the bowls are where it's at (hint: it IS the shell). All of my chicken, rice, queso, corn right there in front of me, not hidden away in a wrap.
If you're down-playing Qdoba, try it. You're not going to be disappointed.
Better than Chipotle, in my opinion. I definitely appreciate that their red beans are vegetarian. Finally I can take a breakey break from black beans! I always order the vegetarian burrito [comes with free guac. HOLLA!]
Usually I slip into a coma and want to die after eating a small child…err, burrito @ Chipotle. Not so with Qdoba. Perhaps the ingredients are fresher, who knows. Either way, the grub is delicious enough for me to wholly embrace this franchise. Viva fake Mexican food!
Qdoba is hands-down my favorite Mexican fast food chain. After my initial evaluation of several selections on the menu several years ago I generally stick to ordering the same Items on the menu upon each visit.
My goal when I visit Qdoba for lunch is to walk away stuffed and happy! With this in goal in mind A shredded beef burrito Is about as good as it gets. I refer to them as 'sea slugs'. If you are not starving, the shredded beef tacos are also awesome.
Tip: The shredded beef is the best meat they have to offer. Do not tinker with the other meats unless you're in the mood for exploring.
Tip: 10 years ago they did not charge for extra meat, these days they do. If you're going to ask for extra meat don't use the word 'extra' as it triggers the dreaded 'charge this guy extra money' reflex in their heads. Instead I tend to ask for "a little more meat" if the employee on the assembaly line tries to build me a skimpy burrito.
5-stars For the food items on the menu I have grown to love.
Just opened near Whole Foods. I don't know about the other Qdoba locations, but here the food is just as good as Chipotle and its location is much more convenient than the Paramus Chipotle on Rt 4. After lunch, we went shopping at Whole Foods, which is always nice albeit overpriced.
It wasn't overcrowded because we went on Sunday. On Sundays in Bergen County, all retail stores save for restaurants, grocery, drug, and book stores, are closed due to the county's blue law. It's been this way for over a 100 years. So the Century 21, Target, and Saks were closed. I am certain that this Qdoba will be packed during the rest of the week when these anchor stores are open.
I've been to several locations all across the country and this location reigns supreme. They're not stingy with portions, and there's tons of flavor in all the components of your bowl, burrito, or taco. I love that Qdoba now offers free guacamole, with the option of different types of queso. It leads to a much tastier combination of flavors!
As much as I love Chipotle, Qdoba has officially won me over thanks to this location.
I like this place. The location in the Bergen Mall is handy. Parking is terrible here as it is in the back near Whole Foods.
But the people who work here are nice. The food is reliable. Its Tex Mex. You know what's coming your way. Seating here is fine. Usually not too loud. You can take a seat at the window and do some fun people watching. This mall gets all sorts of traffic.
Dear Qdoba,
I like you more than I expected. At first I felt like I was cheating on Chipotle, but I soon realized that you are kinda just a better option in a lot of ways. Your brown rice is excellent and never overcooked. The chicken is good but the pork is lean and even better. I love that you don't charge me if I want some guac or super processed cheese aka queso (bc using Spanish is way more classy than saying "questionable cheese soup"). You even have a rewards program- buy 10 items get 1 free. I think you may be my favorite out of the many similar chains of your type. You will probably see me again soon. Peace.
