  1. Formerly Sila Thai Restaurant, which closed and the current location rebranded and under new (Chinese) ownership as Chin Chin Thai. Everything about the former Sila was more authentic than the current now.

How do I judge this new place? Ordered a simple chicken Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. Although the price of each dish was only $7, the quality lacked. The Pad Thai noodles were soaked (literally you can hear the squish of noodles as you picked it up) in a sweet artificial sauce. The pad see ew doesn't have the right dark/sweet soy sauce balance and literally is just soy sauce and broad noodles. The chicken curry puff app was decent, but just wouldn't surprise me if they were frozen.

The menu looks identical to the former, with a several more options. Prices took a mild hike and doesn't seem to reflect the quality. Service is courteous, but this new masquerader of a Thai restaurant doesn't come close. McDonalds is next door by the way, just saying.

  2. I've only ordered out but have quite liked the food here. The veggie drunken noodles were tasty and not greasy, the green curry was not bad, the pad thai had a nice tamarind flavor… Nothing I've had here has been any worse (and has generally been better than) other Thai delivery in the area:
    – Better food than Sweet Basil (yelp.com/biz/sweet-basil…).
    – Better value than Zabb Elee (yelp.com/biz/zabb-elee-q…).
    – More reliable/efficient than Thailand's Center Point (yelp.com/biz/thailands-c…).
Sila Thai (yelp.com/biz/sila-thai-r…) used to occupy this space and I was really unimpressed with what I ordered there once.

Chin Chin did forget the rice in my delivery order recently, the staff speak no English beyond the name of the menu items if you call, and when we figured it out, they said they would send over the AWOL order of rice and never did.

Prices are standard and delivery was moderately quick. I'd order again and trust that the imperfect order was just a fluke.

  3. I order take outs they are always prompt to deliver and food is delicious! Spring rolls, Chicken Pad Thai & salads are good. Food is prepared and delivered fairly quickly!

  4. Food is great here! I got take out last week and was happy with it

Crab Rangoons – $6 you get six of them, I believe. They were very good, but way overpriced compared to other places that sell them…..still worth it though.

Pad Thai with chicken – $7 decent portion, good flavors. I actually got 3 small meals out of it

Steamed vegetable wontons – $5 good, very light. I could not figure out exactly what was in them, though. I probably wouldn't get these again.

Delivery and pick up is fast.

  5. We tried this place for lunch today. I was pleasantly surprised. We found the dishes we tried were delicious. We had the Rad Na with pork, Thai sweet sausage fried rice and the Pad Sweet and Sour with Chicken.

Everything was delicious but I wish there was more noodles in the Rad Na. There was way more gravy than noodles so we used white rice to eat the rest of the delicious gravy. I really wanted more noodles in the Rad Na, then things would be perfect!

The Thai sweet sausage fried rice is delicious and I would totally order it again. I saw on the menu and when I saw peas and carrots in the rice, I got nervous but surprise, surprise I do not think it's frozen peas and carrots, or at least the carrots. It was not the disgusting uniformed cubed frozen carrots. The carrots looked hand cut. Yay. The fried rice was really yummy. It even had the right amount of onions. Some places cut the onions into huge chunks and put way too much as filler. Chin Chin had thin slivers of onions that were cooked, so as to make it sweeter and there was not too much in the rice. It was delicious.

The Pad Sweet and Sour was yummy, same thinly sliced onions. It was yummy.

Granted my bf and I do not love uber spicy food so these dishes worked for us. We would totally come back. Now I want to try more things on the menu.

Too bad they do not extend their lunch specials onto Saturday. Their lunch special menu is Monday to Friday only. Prices are still pretty normal for Thai food. I do expect the some of the prices to be just a little bit lower because of the location in Woodside. Some of the prices are just a tad high for a takeout place…just a tad though, for example the duck dishes are priced high for a takeout place.

Minus one star for lack of decor and lack of bathroom. I am sure they have one in the kitchen but I was uncomfortable going through the kitchen for a bathroom. It's more of a takeout place. There is a few tables, about 5-6 tables only. It's not the most comfortable space but the food is good! haha.
